Full-bodied, pleasantly hoppy throughout, very aromatic. Solid malty flvours with hints of caramel and berries. Well-balanced, well-matured ale. I really enjoyed this. ratman197 (3273), Arvada, Colorado, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 23, 2006 Bottle. Pours a clear dark, very bubbly, reddish-brown with an average size creamy off-white head. Really nice aroma of sweet malt, nuts, chocolate and mild hops -- I love it! Flavour, oh yeah, I forgot how much I enjoy this beer -- starts with roasted malt and nuts and ends with a nice hoppy finish. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel, medium to full bodied. An excellent Nut Brown and probably the best I’ve ever had. BeerandBlues2 (3237), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 18, 2005 Pours a translucent brown with a lasting off white head. Aroma of roasted malts, nuts and honey. Turned out to be more complex then I expected. Also some nice hops in there to balance things out. Much better than New Castle. Didn’t have that sour/bitterness that New Castle has and it had nicer carbonation. KnutAlbert (3217), Oslo, Norway

It is a nutty brown ale as the label says, and there is not much to add. Caramel and nuts, rather one dimensional, it does not have anything extra to lift it. hotstuff (3183), Indiana, USA
