Aroma is a mix of nuts and malts. Color is a brownish red with no head. Roasty and sweet with definite hints of nut. Dry with very spritzy carbonation. Better than Newcastle.

(Rating #30)

Clear dark brown, rich golden head displaying excellent retention. Sponge toffee and banana bread aroma. Toffee, hazelnuts, caramelized banana. Vaguely woody element. Smooth mouthfeel,, medium bodied, beautifully balanced and deliciously complex.

Deep amber brown. Lovely nose, nutty and roasty-sweet. Mouthfeel is watery at times, but carbonation seems to hold it... and malts come in near the finish to help out. Roasty, nutty, piney and earthy aroma. Drinkable and enjoyable.

Walnut body with suberbly rocky yellowish suds that go the distance. Varnishy nutbowl snout. Creamily malty with a proper, grown-up bitter roastiness in the finish. Hints of metal and Marmite yeastiness. Luxurious and impressive.

Bottle. Pours copper with thick beige head. Mild bready aroma is nothing special but nice. Sturdy mouthfeel. Clean, bready, quaffable, nice. Nutty and brown, nothing not to like.
