550 ml clear bottle. Bright ruby colour with amber highlights and a frothy and rocky tan head. Caramel aroma with nutty and lightly metallic notes. Caramel and woody flavours with an earthy and lightly fruity bitter finish. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Better than Newcastle, but that’s not saying much.

Nice clear amber-brown pour with a good size tan head that fizzes away. Aroma of caramel malt and roasted nuts. Sweet nutty toffee flavor with just a kick of hops on the finish. Very refreshing on the palate. A pretty nice brown ale.

A stained wooden color with medium head. Aroma is of roasted nuts. Again the nuts are very noticable in the taste, much more so than Rogues. A beer you have to be in the mood for.

Had this one bottled. Dark brown and clear in color, slightly effervescent, thick tan head, nice nutty nose and sweet with balanced hoppiness and light in the finish.

Pours lighter brown with hints of amber and a smallish creamy yellow head. Aroma is malts and hops with the slightest air of nuts. Taste is malty with some hazelnuts. I also get a weak coffee in the somewhat bitter finish. Samuel Smiths has other beers I would consider before this. From notes.

bottle thanks to believe it or not Target. poured a beautiful clear dark amber with a khaki colored head. the head lasted from beginning to end and left some lacing as well. nose hit me with caramel, hazelnut. flavor was nice with toffee, caramel, and a good hop finish. med-high carbonation. this sat well on the tongue. pretty nice brown ale

Rich amber hue. Large pillowy light brown head. Slight roasted, earthy aroma with hints of apple which also lightly translates into the flavour. Roasted flavour. Dry finish ... decent slight creamy palate.

Medium sized off-white head. Dark amber colour. Malty, very nutty, balancing bitterness, long finish. Nice english ale.
