It builds a thick and foamy head with a creamy tan color over a dark reddish brown body. The body has good clarity and some visible carbonation. The head has very good retention, lasting until the last sip, and it leaves light tan lacing on the glass. The aroma has a strong malty character with notes of mixed nuts and mild hops. It has a malty, sweet bread character that’s doughy and nutty. The presence of hops is mild and only noticeable towards the finish. Its carbonation is mild and the body is about medium making the texture smooth and creamy. This is a very enjoyable brown ale.

It’s almost like a great, smooth brown ale was mixed with a hearty porter or stout and this was created. It’s easy to sip at with an aroma and nutty chocolaty flavor that comes on slowly after the sip is downed. It’s a warmth that stays with you. It is sweet like any other brown ale, but still retains a great amount of smokiness. RasterMaster (125), , Oklahoma, USA

Carbonated bubbles rise from the bottom of the glass into a ring of foam around the edge and a swirling pool in the center of the glass. Aroma of roasted caramel malt and walnut husk. Initial flavor of sweet malt, toasted walnut fading into a slighlty bitter hoppy finish that has a lingering almost buttery feel. lumpsowers (252), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA

Somewhere in there is the flavor of some cereal I ate when I was a kid. Nice head and deep reddish brown color, thick, tasty. Loved it. brenn79 (220), Idaho, USA

The flavor is very mellow and drinkable, the nut flavor doesn’t come til after the swallow. A very enjoyable nut brown, doesn’t push any boundaries but it doesn’t need to. germigan (1), Florida, USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 1, 2009 Nice taste with a hint of bitterness.
