Quality in every way, except for the clear bottle. Excellent mouth feel. Deep brown/red colour. Light head with good lacing. Good flavour of light nuts, malt and hops. The big bottle is empty way too fast as is the glass.

Good ale. Crisp brown color with burnt nut flavors. Finishes slightly bitter. As with most of Sam's beers, this one had good balance.

Amber, red/brown, with a nice offwhite head. Has a nice aroma from nuts, malts and some toffee. Flavor is hoppy and from citrus and then turns malty.

The ale does, indeed, pour nut-brown with a really nice head. Aroma is somewhat fruity and hoppy with traces of caramel. Wonderfully smooth drinking, big thick, malty body.

A beautiful deep, red color with strong brown overtones and a thick collar of well sustained tan foam. Aroma of caramel, butter, vanilla, milk, a faint whiff of sweet tobacco leaf and cedar, and sulphur (just an underscore of bubblegum). Flavor is toasted hazelnuts, caramel, wine gum candy, a good dose of earthy hops, and some dry chocolate. I love S S darker beers.

this is one of my favorite beers. It’s that brown nutty that I love. Has a great foam head. I’m so glad I found this beer.

Nice aroma - sweet malts with just a bit of fruitiness or light chocolate. Great dark brown color with off-white head. Persistent. Medium watery body with pleasant carbonation. Flavor starts a bit sweet with a little tang, then gets you with some nice bitterness. A nice finish with nutty after.
