Bottle. Pure brown hue. Foamy tan head that lasted all the way to the end. No visible carbonation. A nice even aroma, can get a whiff of malt and wheat and a smigen of mild hops - what a beer should smell like. Light on the mouth with a dry finish. Well balanced flavor to match the perfect aroma. Slightly sweet, nutty, then an amount of hops to finish ever so smooth. A leader in a great easy to drink old style.

pours a lovely dark caramel, only slightly opaque. generously foamy head. I find all of Samuel Smith’s beers lovely and enjoyable, but somewhat unremarkable.

Pours walnut brown w/ full semi creamy froth. Aroma of bright, steely old world must and aged hops. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. Flavors of crisp yet creamy malt, oak fruit, slight tobacco, pine. Finish has a perfect balanced bittering. Good stuff. Not too dry. Highly recommended.

One of my favs, a classic brown that doesn’t try to strech the aroma boundaries. A average head with cloudy body that busts out the nutty earth that is brown sugar meeting up with an oak tree.

Very nice Nut Brown Ale. I found it slightly bitter but very tasty. So far I am very impressed by Samuel Smith’s in general!

Bottle. Poured a rich Brown/Red color with a nice foamy head. The aroma was that of roasted caramel malt and coffee. Its mouthfeel was tremendous , smooth and creamy. tastes were malty with a chocolate coffee flavor. Overall a superb brown ale one of the best I have ever tried. Very true to the style!!

This is excellent. Brown appearance with a good silky texture and lacing. Excellent aroma. The nutty flavor comes out nicely with a bitter finish. My 2nd favorite brown ale to Rogue and yet another fine brew from Sam Smith.
