Brewed at Samuel Smith’s small, traditional British brewery with well water (the original well sunk in 1758 is still in use), best barley malt, roasted barley, yeast and aromatic hops. Nut Brown Ale is relatively dry with a rich amber-brown colour and nutty flavour derived exclusively from small amounts of dark malt. Brown ales are a specialty of northern England. Fermented in ’stone Yorkshire squares’.

Completely enjoy the hazelnut and walnut taste. In this case the darker the beer the better!!

500ml bottle, Bispham hotel, Blackpool. Pours chestnut brown. Taste is of chocolate, caramel, weak malt. I found this to be too fizzy, thin and neutral, and whilst drinkable, i was left feeling abit uninspired. Maybe it was an old bottle, and if it had been on tap i would have had a second.

Pours a glowing brown color with an eggshell colored, smooth head. Tastes of bready, earthy malts with a nice, subtle sweetness to it, revealing a toasty quality and bakers chocolate. Has a smooth medium carbonation with a soft, refreshing finish, showcasing a light, pleasantly malt defined beer. Tastes of bread, church candles and slightly chocolaty malts, which receive a good earth coating. Very rustic, yet smooth and a litte creamy on the tongue, this also features a nice toasty quality. Finishes clean and soft with a short, sweet malt peak among a watery quality. Pretty light, but well composed with a nice, bready malt profile.

I bought this bottle at drink of the world in Zürich. I drank it tonight. This beer is not bad, average. The taste is close to a German Bock. The body is brown and the foam is thin, average carbonation. The taste is a little smocked, dry malt, plum and discreet note of nuts at the final, a bit watery, some hop.

From estucerveza. In Ikea’s pint glass. After dinner. Raisins, nutty, with a good amount of bitter hops. Amazing in aroma, pretty drinkable and good taste

Mørkebrun med skum der hurtigt forsvinder. Hasselnødder og brændte mandler, men uden at være sødlig.

Pours a very slightly reddish brown from a bottle, off-white head leaves some lacing. Aroma is a bready toffee. Flavor is like bread dough with some caramel, rather watery, a little metallic although that’s fading as I drink it. Good beer.
