COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed at Samuel Smith’s small, traditional British brewery with well water (the original well sunk in 1758 is still in use), best barley malt, roasted barley, yeast and aromatic hops. Nut Brown Ale is relatively dry with a rich amber-brown colour and nutty flavour derived exclusively from small amounts of dark malt. Brown ales are a specialty of northern England. Fermented in ’stone Yorkshire squares’.

Pours a clear deep brown with an amber hue. Foamy head holds up pretty well. Nose is nutty and rummy. Taste is deep rich caramel malts and a hint of chocolate and almond with a smidgen of cherry cordial. A fantastic offering from Samuel Smiths.

Poured from a big bottle. Nice deep brown coloring with a small foam head. Smells of malty chocolate. Tastes of bitter chocolate. Slightly bitter after taste. It's decent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Notevole!

Great nutty aroma. Pours a deep brown with two fingers of light brown head. Quality caramel malt flavors come through, complimented very well with a nutty flavor. Nice and clean on the palate. An excellent beer, especially on a cold day.

This nut brown ale is a great tasting ale with good malt taste but aftertaste is slightly off for me. Although good, it is not how I remember the beer. A decent pint to enjoy during the spring thaw. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 355ml kindly shared by Dominique. Nose is on toasted caramel and light chocolate. Aroma is sweet, toasted, caramel like, bitter chocolate, light nut notes, quite complex for this level of alcohol, grassy and floral touch, light red fruit notes, massepin, good.

Medium amber, clear, good lacing. Medium body, watery middle, refreshing mouthfeel, with good acidity which makes up for the low alcohol. Avg length, flavorful and faintly nutty, dry finish. Moderatly bitter, dry, Roast malt, rusty, little hop presence, besides bitterness. Invigorating, keeps you awake, not a relaxing, comfort drink. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
