Dark brown/black pour with a creamy long lasting tan head. Aroma seemed to be a bit light, but there was some definate sweet roastiness. Flavor is better. Sweet dark caramel malt and chocolate, plus roasted coffee and grain. Palate is just a little thin, but still overall a very nice stout.

does not count  Sep 3, 2008 Aroma of dried fruit (craisins) with a hint of salt and pepper. Delicious, rich taste...the finish reminds me of Triscuits and Valdosta pecans.. Smooth and clean palate, not too much aftertaste.

Sep 3, 2008 Pours a very dark color with a nice thick head. Has aromas of sweet roasted malts. The flavor is much the same. It is sweeter than what I had been expecting, though not too sweet. The finish is well balanced making this a very nice brew.

Sep 1, 2008 Updated: Sep 3, 2008Pours deep dark brown, almost black, with tan head, dissipates quickly. Milky, chocolately aroma with hints of dried cherries and molasses. Tastes creamy and sweet, feels silky and smooth in the mouth. The balance and carbonation are great, and I love the cocoa aftertaste.

Black with brown head. Aroma is malt and roasts. Flavor is malt with an oily palate. Nice bitterness.

Aug 28, 2008 Bottle: Pour is medium clear dark with a fizzy yet creamy head. Aroma is of chocolate, light burnt malt, sweet oats, and a lot of malt. Carbonation is spot on making this brew silky to the touch. Flavors began with sweet cocoa, creamy oats, moving to a ton of malt, and finally finishing with a hint of hop and the residual cocoa. Damn good brew. Complex and delicious.
