sm89walt (168), Norwich and Canterbury, Norfolk, England May 12, 2008 55cl bottle. A pitch black beer with a fine but long lasting tan coloured head. Roasted malt nose with notes of raisins and chocolate. The flavour profile consists of a hearty oat backbone, supplemented by roasted malts, rich chocolate and fruity wine-like tones. Smooth, robust and slightly dry palate texture with a mild bitter finish, partnered by a lasting oatiness. Nicely balanced in all departments; a truly gorgeous stout.
craftycarl21 (120), USA Jul 25, 2008 pours similarly to sam smith’s taddy porter, but with a lighter colored head and more lacing. Decent aroma- chocolate, coffee, sweet notes. Flavor is greatttt- malty deliciousness. Phenomonally smooth. Great beer, especially considering its common availability. Tweety (159), Boston, Massachusetts, USA Jul 25, 2008 The ultimate example of this style. Sweet and smooth and tasty. Ubiquitous, one of the best beers you can get basically the world over.
