Medium creamy offwhite lasting shiny head. Chestnut brown body settles slowly. Faint wooden aroma. Soft delicate wooden floral taste with nutty metallic notes. Soft, smooth, clean mouthfeel. Dry wooden metallic aftertaste. Very nice. (0.5pt on cask at Cittie of Yorke.)

Cask (Cittie of Yorke, London) Dark red. Slightly woody malty aroma. Huge malty taste with massive mellow oak accompaniament. Buttery, woody, smooth and mellow. Wonderful, and I’m sure sessionable.

Handpulled cask at THe Princess Louise, London. Orange with creamy white head. Good balance of malt and fruit with a very slightly lactic yeastiness. Dry bitter finish. Not a great beer but an excellent session drink which still tastes much as it did 30 years ago, Brilliant value at £1.88 a pint in central London!

Cask at some sidestreet pub in Sheffield. Cheap stuff, decent enough light malts, thick collar head.

(Cittie of York) Dark coppery colored, medium sized yellow head. Soft aroma with sweet fruits and mild bitterness, lemon also present. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor starts with fruits and apple, ending turns to slightly bitter and fruity. Good beer, still could have richer flavor.
