(Cask at Princess Louise, Holborn, London 20 Mar 2006) Copper colour with a firm white head. Nose is malty, fruity with apricots and citrus. Taste is malty, creamy and somewhat sweet, with a drier, medium bitter finish. Refreshing, smooth and easy to drink, but lacking some personality.

Cask-conditioned at the Cittie of York, London 13/10/09. Amber in colour with a decent, off-white ehad. Fruity, caramel aroma and flavour, with a touch of earthiness in the finish. Ok.

Cask at various locations and times - certainly not the beer it was 10 years ago. Seems these days to have a permanent haze to it. Usual bitter colour with decent white head. Nothing special in the aroma; mainly malt with slight fruit. Decent body but lacks anything noteworthy with regard to hop or malt. Undistinguished finish and at its worst can leave an unpleasant tang. Higher rating as it’s cheap as chips.

Beautiful, creamy head that lasts the full of the length of the pint. Nice malty aroma but nothing special taste-wise, a standard and well-balanced session ale that goes down easily but is somewhat boring.

Cask at Ye Olde Chesire Cheese in London. Clouded brown body with a small cream colored head. Nose is some fruit, wood and hops. Taste is light wood, spiced hops, cocoa, and muddied malt. Mouthfeel is moderate with mild bitterness. Finish is a fruit flavor (for some reason I picked up banana) with a hoppy note or two.

On tap at Horse and Groom, Great Portlland Street. Reddish amber with a thick creamy, slightly yellowish head. Faint fudge aroma. Good bitterness, some caramel and milk. Smooth. Not over-exciting.

Cask @ The Chandos. Pours amber colour. Aroma isn’t anything great. Taste is a little thin but definitely drinkable. Can be a good session beer.
