Commercial Description:
Bottle: Pastuerised
Captures the soul of beer. It has a maltiness that reminds you that beer is a product of the soil. Balance of malt and hops.

Highly underrated beer. 550ml bottle, liquor store in Syosset, NY. Pours a clear copper color with very little head. Aroma is sweet and almost like cranberries with retaining some malt character. Taste is mildly bitter and moderately sweet. Palate is very smooth but still fills the mouth with goodness. Excellent beer, easy to drink in larger quantities.

Sampled from bottle: pours a cloudy orange-amber colour with a fairly large white head. Aroma is slightly floral, slightly fruity with a decently carbonated mouthfeel. Taste is pleasent, citrusy and even semi-sweet at times, with a firm dry hoppy finish. Very nice beer.

Deep amber red color with a smallish head. Malty light easy going taste with some fruity and hoppiness there also. Real easy going beer that you can sit down and have a few of.

Beer which is the colour of cold ice tea is probably going to set some alarm bells ringing. See-through and lifeless. There was some initial excitement on pour. The bubbles race to the top like sperm up a cervix. Then, most of them just die and a few tough little buggers are left. No head, no lacing - i’m falling asleep just looking at this beer. Probably the sorriest looking beer i’ve rated so far. The odour is slighly more encouraging, but I get a whiff of teabags all the same. Roasting coffee, chestnuts, acorns, something very earthy in here. There’s a certain custard creaminess afters somewhere in this one. There’s a perceptible fizz on the the tongue, easy to drink but nothing special. Raoul ’Wookie’ Weston bought a crate of this and donated 3 to me; big up! Harking back to what i said earlier about the pour; the beer looked so happy to get out of the bottle, which i find strange considering its the best thing about this brew. The elegant gold foil wrapping the slender neck, which then descends into a perfectly shaped slimline body (355ml). Not bad, but not as good as i wanted it to be. Living in Japan I want these popular English beers to blow people’s ’kutsushita’ off.

Pours a reddish brown with a small but soapy white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, hops and earthiness. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, and a little hop bitterness. Goes down smooth with a bitter earthy finish.

Pours reddish amber with two finger white head. Aroma is caramel malt and a bit of earthy hops. Flavor is very sweet with caramel and toffee present. Hop character is light and nearly goes under the radar. Some floral and cirtus hops near the finish. Palate is smooth and creamy for the style- finishes clean and crisp with a bit of bitterness.

Overall, a pretty good pale ale. Aroma of hops and nutty caramel. Taste is a bit hoppy, but not bad. Overall, another great beer from Samuel SMiths.

I really enjoyed this beer. Pours light brown with a tan head. Good balance between the malty sweetness and hoppy bitterness. This would be a good session beer.
