Clear amber colour with large creamy off-white mostly lasting head. Malty aroma. Sweet flavor. Oily palate. joeyplush (328), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 22, 2008 I really enjoy this beer. It pours beautifully, with a dark amber, clear color and a creamy off-white head. The taste is malty, with a slight toffee flavor. Finish is oily and a bit creamy, with some fizziness. Great beer to enjoy any time, but especially like it when warming up on a winter evening. omhper (12155), Stockholm, Sweden Jun 9, 2008 Bottled at Bishop’s Arms Vasagatn, Stockholm. Clear brownish amber, average head. Crisp cracker-like malt covered in a thin layer of syrup. There’s hay and caramel and ligh salty bitterness. It’s very drinkable, and I can still see why I liked this beer so much 15 years ago - although these days there are much better beers available. thewolf (5662), Kolding, Denmark Jun 8, 2008 Bottle @ YNWA, Kolding.
Pours dark amber with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is softly malty, light ryebread and a nice dose of flowery hoppiness. Fine, soft mouthfeel. Flavour is soft as well, good nuttiness and some toffee with a good, dry hoppiness. A subdued chocolate finish. Nice balance. EHopper (274), Minnesota, USA Jun 7, 2008 I enjoyed this smoky, sweet, nicely hopped ale. Carmel and malt, bread and earth with citrus and exotic spices. Really, a well balanced, interesting brew, with only a bit too much sour as a minor distraction.
