Commercial Description:
Bottle: Pastuerised
Captures the soul of beer. It has a maltiness that reminds you that beer is a product of the soil. Balance of malt and hops.

Pours dark amber with a soft white head. Big caramel character that gets a lot of earthiness from the mineral flavor that I find in these. Fruity towards the finish, hops are herbal and provide just enough balance.

55 cL bottle. Pours clear golden deep amber with a dense off-white head. Light hoppy to malty aroma. Flavour is light fruity and of malt. Medium dry and light herbal bitterness. Towards a mild mouldy note. Medium dry finish with a mild bitterness.

ABV: 5% Calories: estimated at 250C Volume: 18.7 fl oz Glass: footed pilsener Purchased at: West Trenton Wine and Liquor, West Trenton NJ Price: $2.50 Consumed at: home First Impression: Aroma is herbal, a bit dusty. Visuals include a deep red and nice head with some lacing. Taste is only okay - the flavor is a bit muted, somewhat watery, kind of bland. Palate is good, spongey, with a dry crisp middle-length finish. Second Impression: I didn’t enjoy this a whole lot. It’s kind of weak, and while it’s easily drinkable, and not bad, it’s not great either. For the price, I expected more. Aroma: 8 out of 10 Visuals: 4 out of 5 Taste: 6 out of 10 Palate: 4 out of 5 Overall: 14 out of 20. It just isn’t that great of a beer, and when you have something like their great Oatmeal Stout to compare it with, why would you pay the same amount for this?

Bottle. This one was similar to the India Ale. I recommend all Samuel Smith beers.

bottle. small off-white fizzy (fully dissapating) head into dark amber body with no lacing present. aromas of moderate malts and no hops initially noted (though light floral hops were noticed shortly). flavor is lightly sweet throughout that slightly dimishes in the finish. not as impressed as i was anticipating.

Bottle. Poured a dark copper. Much deeper in color than most other pale ales. Big creamy off-white head that laces nicely. Weak nose of sweet malt and fruit, slight hints of hops. Tastes of caramel malt and balanced nicely with a micld hop finish. Pretty sweet overall. Not as many hops in this beer as an american pale ale. But it is a very typical English style beer that I would definitely recommend. It is better than Bass.
