rw4244 (128), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Mar 1, 2007 Bottle 55cl. Poured a dark red, oaky amber with a good off-white head. The aroma was surprisingly faint, with sweet hints of roasted malt and toffees. The flavour was robust; rich malty bitter, with woody sour notes, all becoming more acute in the finish, which is accompanied by a slight whiskiness. Rich, full palate, if a little oily. A strong robust IPA, clearly in an old style. bhensonb (4187), Woodland, California, USA Feb 25, 2007 Malty aroma accompanied by a hint of citrus hop. Nice coppery color with a beige head that lasted, but not for long. Starts with light hop, followed by definite malt, but not sicky sweet malt. Decent mouthfeel. Clean, rather dry finish, and the bitter is still there. Ok, they say it’s balanced; I’ll agree. ford9719 (369), Vilseck, Germany Feb 25, 2007 Bottle. Poured a thin tea looking color. Aroma of malt and barley. Taste is full bodie with malt and a very small hint of hops in the finish. drazil91 (39), Panama City, Florida, USA Feb 24, 2007 nice head, although not very long lasting. Smelled kinda sour and tasted kinda sour also. Excellent lacing and just bitter enough for me to enjoy. jeepmischief (13), New York, USA Feb 20, 2007 A so-so beer. Not very strong in flavor. A very mild beer for a pale ale. However I like it’s lack of hoppiness. VikingHammer (362), Lynnfield, Massachusetts, USA Feb 12, 2007 Amber color with a good sized white head. Slight hops aroma. Tastes of hops, fruits, and malts are well balanced. Crisp , dry finish. Good overall
Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Feb 8, 2007 Dark amber, nice head. The aroma has notes of caramel and some fruit. The mouthfeel is quite full and the flavour is very smooth with nice notes of roasted malt, hops and fruit, and it has a nice dry finish. zamco17 (134), Corpus Christi, Texas, USA Feb 5, 2007 meh. looks good with a nice amberness and small white head. smells alright too, some citrus there. flavor is like they wanted a good balance between hops and malt but are way too in between. just not that great. a little watery to me.
