Mutualaid (136), Texas, USA Jan 21, 2007 Pours deep amber with a good, beige to cream head. Aromas of honey and yeast with a healthy herbal hop bouquet. Very hop forward flavor but balanced with an assertive malt sweetness. Medium body. Finishes with an unfortunate metallic flavor. greenmanalishi (296), Leicestershire, England Jan 20, 2007 middle of the road stuff. not one of samuel smith’s outstanding beers - drinkable, but flavours are forgettable. edfitz (114), Toledo, Ohio, USA Jan 15, 2007 Amber with frothy head. Malty aroma. Balance of hops and malts. Good, not great. A little sour at the finish. RCL (1443), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Jan 14, 2007 It’s actually kinda nice to just have a beer that isn’t super hopped or smoked or funky. It’s just a beer. A well made, pleasant to drink beer that won’t tax your brain or palate and goes nice with fish and chips. Damn tasty, and you could drink a boat of it. cole45 (21), USA Jan 14, 2007 Odd mineral-y, carbonation-y lingering after-taste. Could use slightly more hops. thefederalist (226), Jonesboro, Arkansas, USA Jan 13, 2007 Pours amber with a nice head. Aroma is malty and slightly sour. Flavor has some funky hop note along with a nice malt character. Finish is nice and dry. Something is not quite right. Dissapointing from Samuel Smith’s. beergut111 (210), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 8, 2007 Bottle. Amber color with a huge head. A good beer, but I wasnt blown away. I would have liked it to be a little more hoppy. I would drink it again. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA Jan 8, 2007 Tap, maybe nitro. Three Goat’s Heads, Oxford. Copper with a sticky layer of off white. Dusty, hay hops. Sort of a stale smell overall. Flavor seems kinds of dusty too. Some farmy flavor, a bit of mineral finish. Sort of thin palate. Not bad, but rather forgettable.
