probstk (1011), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Nov 14, 2006 550 mL bottle, part of a gift set from the LCBO. App.: med.-deep copper with a decent beige head that lasts. Aroma: mainly malty with slight fruitiness. A bit of hops comes through. Palate: med. carbonation and body, slightly thick. Flav.: malty start, dry with minimal hop presence. Biscuity, bready finish with a hint of hops. Ends abruptly. Fairly balanced, I’ve had better! henryalvz (32), Tampa, Florida, USA Nov 13, 2006 Very nice amber body. Sweet light initial flavor with light bitter finish. invalid (302), Columbus, Ohio, USA Nov 12, 2006 Not too bad, a little sweet for a pale ale. Glass bottles are the devil. Not bad but plenty of better PAs out there. french tickler (642), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada Nov 10, 2006 Drank in a trappist glass. Orange / caramel body. Aromas of alcohol, floral hops and hints of nutty caramel. Creamy somewhat bitter feel. Flavors of caramel, orange peelings, nuts. For an ESB, extremely well balanced. cewldre (268), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Nov 5, 2006 Bottle(550mL): Poured a light amber in color with a small, white head. Smell has a bit of fruit, some berry in there it smells, but I can’t pin down the type. It’s very interesting. It smells very sweet. Flavor has an interesting taste. Again, I notice what seems to be some sort of berry flavor, the more I drink, it seems like it may be a slight raspberry, but again, I am not positive on that. Taste is pretty malty, with maybe a hint of hops in it. DJC (238), USA Nov 3, 2006 Updated: Nov 14, 2006Attractive amber color, and a head that refuses to lace. The aroma is good, but the flavor is much better. Nice balance of malt and hops, with a pleasant aftertaste. Very drinkable - may I have another? VeloVampire (483), Parkdale, Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 2, 2006 Updated: Oct 29, 2008550 ml bottle - pours clear amber, with a big rocky beige head tha lasts forever. Nutty and hoppy aroma, with some malt in there. That distinctive British aroma. Nice taste - upfront maltiness with a good amount of fresh hops, and a pleasant slightly bitter finish. Nothing to write home about, but good stuff nonetheless. StompBrockmore (300), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 27, 2006 Updated: Nov 2, 2006550ml bottle. Pours an almost glowing amber colour, very nice under the light. Nice ’bright’ aroma, which speaks loudly of what the flavour will bring. This is a very smooth beer, balanced nicely between the malt and hops, with a pleasant earthiness and bitterness in the finish.
