dvanbler (7), Massachusetts, USA does not count Dec 3, 2005 The skunky aroma and flavor was overpowering. I think this would have been a good beer if it was packaged properly. yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Nov 30, 2005 Bottled. Amber beer with small beige head. Sweet malty aroma with hints of cellar or Belgian Brune. Rich flavor with hoppy finish. (BB-date jan.05) (051104) Magicdave6 (5400), London, Greater London, England Nov 27, 2005 Another sam smiths beer that i havnt yet rated. Aroma starts maybe a little harsh but smooths out top balanced hopy malts, though the malt is saying a little more. Taste is also particularly malty and quite full also. Nice wee beer that u could session. Dickinsonbeer (3434), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Nov 25, 2005 Pours clear amber with an ok head. Aroma is almost all malt, some toasted malts, and crystal with hints of herbal hops. Flavor is pretty smooth overall, with no off flavors- just a straightforward pale ale. Sweet caramel malts, with a light nuttiness and a light bitter finish. Amazing this beer is as good as it is despite coming all the way from England in clear bottles. FoolishMortal (965), San Diego, California, USA Nov 23, 2005 550mL bottle. Deep red-orange with a film of white head. Estery pear and apple skin aroma. Dusty chemical pantina to sweet ripe fruit ester flavors and muted grainy malt. Finish is slightly tart. Mouthfeel is light medium, fairly smooth. OD40oz (600), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA Nov 23, 2005 Amber in color with a somewhat grainy taste to it. I like the taddy porter and the oatmeal stout better but this was acceptable for a pale ale, which I don’t usually like. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 22, 2005 Updated: Nov 23, 2005(Bottle 55 cl) Beautiful amber beer with a dense head. Dominated by nutty, caramelish malt, but dry - never sweet. A very pleasant and quaffable brew. 290900 donrajin (233), Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, USA Nov 19, 2005 This a well balanced beer. A smooth drinking beer. The flavor is the premier ESB. Very well balanced and not too much bitter aftertaste.
