Captures the soul of beer. It has a maltiness that reminds you that beer is a product of the soil. Balance of malt and hops.

Had an orangish colour, aroma was a bit sweet. Taste seemed alightly hoppy with a bit of citrus in it. Tad dry aftertaste.

Bottle. Stale and thin, confectionary caramel, some chunder. Stale mouthfeel, really, really crap.

Pours a nice medium amber color. Aromas of toasty malts and a touch of hops. Flavor is nutty, malty, and slight hop bite.

Lately I’ve mostly been drinking my home made stout (would rate around a 3), so, a lighter beer which is done this well was a good change. Aroma is hoppy, and a bit earthy. Pours a large off-white head which is mostly lasting. Colour is a nice medium orangey red. Light caramel notes in the flavour as well as light to medium bitterness. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A good, balanced pale ale.

The skunky aroma and flavor was overpowering. I think this would have been a good beer if it was packaged properly.

Bottled. Amber beer with small beige head. Sweet malty aroma with hints of cellar or Belgian Brune. Rich flavor with hoppy finish. (BB-date jan.05) (051104)

Another sam smiths beer that i havnt yet rated. Aroma starts maybe a little harsh but smooths out top balanced hopy malts, though the malt is saying a little more. Taste is also particularly malty and quite full also. Nice wee beer that u could session.

Pours clear amber with an ok head. Aroma is almost all malt, some toasted malts, and crystal with hints of herbal hops. Flavor is pretty smooth overall, with no off flavors- just a straightforward pale ale. Sweet caramel malts, with a light nuttiness and a light bitter finish. Amazing this beer is as good as it is despite coming all the way from England in clear bottles.
