Jan Primus (160), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Feb 14, 2005 Nice bronze/caramel colour with fluffy white head. Aroma is a bit nutty. Taste is malts, hops, caramel. Too light bodied for my taste, but pleasant and easy drinking brew. LutzBrau (43), iowa city, Iowa, USA Feb 9, 2005 Very well balanced with a kiss of butterscotch. Excellent palate with medium body, lively carb, and creamy texture. The hops flavor doesnt quite fit. BeerBlockaid (538), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Feb 9, 2005 Tried this after having the Fullers. Big nice fluffy head. Smoothly balanced malty flavour with mild hops. Not to abrasive. Caramel colour and taste with a slight toffee flavour. Very enjoyable. Is there a loaf of bread in there? tiggmtl (4307), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Feb 7, 2005 Biscuity malt and floral/earthy/herbal hops in the aroma with some mild skunkiness. Clear burnished copper coloured body is topped by thin cover of fine-bubbled white head that lasts throughout and leaves some patchy lacing. Nicely balanced malt flavour with hop bitterness with some caramel residual sweetness. Fair carbonation prickles the tongue. Medium-light body. Bottle (clear, Winooski Beverage Warehouse - Dec. 2004). nick76 (2634), Tampa, Florida, USA Jan 30, 2005 Perfect head and hop aroma. This one is a reddish brown color. Not what I expect from a pale ale. Also the taste is not what I expected from a pale ale which in this case is OK. The hops character is quite floral and the malts are toasty with slight toffee hints. The aftertaste is of caramel and bitter hops. jasonp (1504), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA Jan 25, 2005 Beautiful clear amber/ruby with a thick beige head. Caramel and floral hops in the nose. Taste has prominent caramel along with toasty malts, floral hops, toffee and some fruity citrus notes. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter aftertaste. Very full, round and creamy on the palate with lively carbonation - very nice. Not much lacing but good head retention. Overall, not that complex but a very nicely balanced, very drinkable beer. frink (467), coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada Jan 14, 2005 Pours a rich amber with a creamy tan head. Aromas of malt, some hops, nutty. The taste is much of the same quite refreshing. Persistant head, good lacing. A tasty brew. Jine (889), Nutley, New Jersey, USA Jan 9, 2005 550 ml bottle. Pours out a delicious looking nutty amber color. Decent sized whitish head sticks to sides of glass and hangs out in a layer over the surface once diminished. Kind of a bready, malty aroma. Taste is slightly above average for a bitter. Flows across the tongue. Good stuff
