3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours clear amber, white head. Nose of hay, biscuit, berry, metallic hops. Flavour is same, light palate, very refreshing, but the metallic hops are too strong for me in the finish to really be any sort of classic.

550ml Victorian bottle, pours dark golden brown with a small foamy white head. Rich caramel & toffee malt backbone, biscuit and hints of berries and plums. Full bodied with a balanced light bitter finish. Carbonation low to average. An old recipe, but still a good one!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
pours unclear medium dark golden-orange with a small off-white cap, soem retention and lacing. doughy caramel malts, oranges and other yellow fruits, nuts - toasted and lightly caramelized, black tea, some butter - never overdone though, english yeast, citrus, lemons, bitter herbs, candies. moderate carbonation, light body - oily and very smooth, grassy-herbal-lightly earthy finish. st-ambroise pale ale seems like a clone of this brew. and curiously they have both 3.35 of weighted average. tasted side by side to be sure.. humm.. anyhow, this stuff is well crafted and fun with my dinner.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
550 ml. bottle. Pours amber with a decent white head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, citrus, and grass. Very well balanced flavor, with noble hops and sweet malt character. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, with a long, sweet/bitter finish. Very nice, would get again, a great session beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear copper with a small white ring of head that leaves bits of spotty lace. Aroma of caramel, toffee, grassy and earthy like hops. Taste is caramel, grass, earth, steamed veggies and some biscuit. Overall a very well balanced English pale ale with the focus on malt and a good hop presence in the background.
