3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Into a pint glass. Amber to orange color with a finger and half of head. Great lacing and hold.
Lots of aroma: pear and apple mostly.
Quite malty, minimum bitterness at first, builds towards the end. Lemon.
Soft texture. Medium body, low carbonation.
Nice pale ale to enjoy the malt side of the ale without having to fight through the bitterness of American Pale Ales.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark bronze, yeasty aroma, dry and bitter with just a dash of fruitiness. Punchy raspberry aftertaste. Really cool pale ale.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Good bitter with some clean malt taste and English hop aroma. There’s some malt sweetness that mixes with some fruity esters like in all classic English beers. Tasty.

*Old rating. Hints of roast, hints of nuts. A round and smooth malty brew, not too bitter, fresh, easy to drink. Nice.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle pour. Aroma is dark fruits, caramel and noble hops. Appearance is cloudy brown (like a dark cider) with minimal head, no noticeable sparkle and no lacing. Taste is as aroma--a bit like a rich, dessert wine. Palate is medium bodied with average carbonation and pleasant sweet finish. Overall, a nice, authentic European representative of the style. Unique and good.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma - sweet caramel malt and some toast.
Appearance - the body is a slightly hazed amber. Head is 1 1/4" and head, tight and settles slowly. Sudsy lacing.
Taste - malted barley, toffee, and classic English hops (Fuggles & East Kent Goldings). Slight nuttiness as it warms.
Palate - between light and medium bodied, texture is smooth almost soft, the carbonation is soft, and finish is slightly tannic.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Willow’s Market in Menlo Park, CA. Aroma is caramel, malts, mild dirty/earthy hops. Taste is heavy, chewy caramels, lozenges. A gritty, toothy Pale Ale most likely brewed to be appreciated in a dark English bar by men far more ferocious than myself.
