| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 28, 2003 Finally I decided to buy this beer after seeing it on the shelf for over 2 months. The body is browny red and clear. The head was huge but settled to a nice size and had great lacing. Aroma was quite hoppy and floral, perhaps even a tad spicy. Flavour is smooth and hoppy. Finish is fluffy and delicate. Extremely well balanced beer. jimhilt (1695), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 1, 2005 Pours a cream, one-finger head that vanishes quickly leaving no lace. Slightly cloudy amber color. Medium-strong carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is faintly sweet. Starts on the sweet side with some hops hiding in the background. Clean finish, this is a good pale not loaded with hops. $3 for a 550ml bottle from Northend Superette Manchester, NH. GG (1689), NorCal, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 28, 2009 Perhaps an older bottle? Not sure, but it had the clear glass which is always a disappointment and the beer suffers for it. The strength of the beer is clearly the appearance, which is a beautiful dark amber/rootbeer brown in color with a thick and creamy tan head. The bready aroma didn’t let much else out of my glass, except for a few random notes of sweet malts. The flavor had a rather muted taste with some light malts, some bread, a bit of caramel but mostly just a vague drinking experience. Is clear glass the culprit? Dunno. The palate seemed very thin too by the way. Kinda like an extract homebrew. MrManning (1662), London, Ontario, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 8, 2004 Bottle- Pours a reddish body with a thin off white coloured head. Aroma is malty sweetness, with some hops. Grassy notes as well. Taste is malty, nutty, with some earthy bitterness. A creamy bitter beer that is made well. A good example of the style.
