Here we have a well rounded ESB. Lots of nice malt going on here, tastes almost like a Wee Heavy due to the malt presence. Despite, the hops balance out provide a refreshing bitterness.

Copper/amber body with a froathy tall head (very belgian to be english). Taste is a nice balance between the caramel malts and the dry hoppy part. Floreal aroma. Body is medium, texture is thin, carbonation is soft

Red-amber with a white head. Aroma is grass with some orange and bread. Flavor is bread and toffee, with some earth and grass. I also get some light orange notes. Low bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured a reddish brown with a nice tan head a decent lacing. Aroma of dark fruit and malts. Taste is mostly caramel malts, nice bitterness from hops. Super smooth and easy drinker; very enjoyable I liking this one a lot.

(bottle) Reddish-brown colour, clear, average frothy, slightly off-white head. Toasted, nutty aroma, with hay, herbs and grass as well, plus some nice sherry notes and mineral notes. Initial light bitterness becomes more pronounced towards the finish, slightly acidic. Light to medium body, soft carbonation, slightly metallic feel.

Aroma di luppolo e le note dolci del malto. La fermentazione nelle vasche di pietra concedono a questa birra un corpo pieno con un gusto dolce maltato. Una buona birra molto beverina

Sweet dark fruit nose. Palate is not as sweet and has more of a malty and caramel taste. Nice smooth finish.

Bouteille 500ml. (2006)

At 3 o’clock this morning I woke with a strange memory prominent, one that had been dormant for years. When I skated, so as to preserve my trainers against the rough wearing of the grip tape, I would wear a patch of my paper boy bag, cut and fashioned as a protective shield over the outside edge of my right shoe. Was this common? Who can tell me which way I skated based on this knowledge?

Samuel Smith’s Old Brewery Pale Ale has a very thick, soapy, cream-colored head, lots of thick lacing rings left behind, and a somewhat hazy, amber appearance, with a few bubble streams and some little brown particles floating about. The aroma is pungent, sweet, bready, roasted, and full. Taste is of the same elements, with toffee and a pleasant, and even sharp, hop bitterness in the middle-to-end of the sip. Mouthfeel is medium and slick, and Samuel Smith’s Old Brewery Pale Ale finishes dry, refreshing, and quite drinkable. Overall, this is a most excellent beer! RJT

500 ml bottle. Clear amber body with a moderate sized tan head. Mild aroma with some caramel malt and hint of butterscotch. Flavor is sweet malt, hint of caramel, moderate bitterness and no negative effect from the butterscotch aroma. OK bitter but pretty average.
