Name changed from Old Brewery Pale Ale to Organic Pale Ale in 2011.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, yeast, hops.
Brewed with well water (the original well at the Old Brewery, sunk in 1758, is still in use, with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground); best barley malt, yeast and aromatic hops; fermented in ‘stone Yorkshire squares’ to create a full, rounded flavour and after-taste.
Best served at about 51°F (11°C).

Here we have a well rounded ESB. Lots of nice malt going on here, tastes almost like a Wee Heavy due to the malt presence. Despite, the hops balance out provide a refreshing bitterness.

0.55l bottle. Clear amber body with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of caramel, biscuit, reisins, roasted malts and some floral hops. Taste of caramel, biscuit, toast, reisins, roasted malts with a bit of floral hops. As the label says it’s a nice showcase of malts. It’s also balanced between the sweet malts and the roasty, hoppy bitterness. One of the best bitters I’ve ever had.

Bottle. Dark amber, red colour. Medium head which dissappeared quite quickly. Malts, caramel, honey in the aroma. Caramel at first. Hints of honey and malts in the middle. Sweet, malty finish. Sweetness also in the aftertaste. Rather medium bodied, medium carbonated beer. Do not have interesting palate. Too sweet for me to be refteshing. Drinkable.

Dark bronze, yeasty aroma, dry and bitter with just a dash of fruitiness. Punchy raspberry aftertaste. Really cool pale ale.

Good bitter with some clean malt taste and English hop aroma. There’s some malt sweetness that mixes with some fruity esters like in all classic English beers. Tasty.

50cl bottle at The Blue Posts, London. Clear dark orange with a small white head. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. Subtle bitter tones with ditto sweetness. Caramel, fruits, malts and grain. Ok brew.

*Old rating. Hints of roast, hints of nuts. A round and smooth malty brew, not too bitter, fresh, easy to drink. Nice.

Bottle pour. Aroma is dark fruits, caramel and noble hops. Appearance is cloudy brown (like a dark cider) with minimal head, no noticeable sparkle and no lacing. Taste is as aroma--a bit like a rich, dessert wine. Palate is medium bodied with average carbonation and pleasant sweet finish. Overall, a nice, authentic European representative of the style. Unique and good.

Aroma - sweet caramel malt and some toast. Appearance - the body is a slightly hazed amber. Head is 1 1/4" and head, tight and settles slowly. Sudsy lacing. Taste - malted barley, toffee, and classic English hops (Fuggles & East Kent Goldings). Slight nuttiness as it warms. Palate - between light and medium bodied, texture is smooth almost soft, the carbonation is soft, and finish is slightly tannic.
