Name changed from Old Brewery Pale Ale to Organic Pale Ale in 2011.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, yeast, hops.
Brewed with well water (the original well at the Old Brewery, sunk in 1758, is still in use, with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground); best barley malt, yeast and aromatic hops; fermented in ‘stone Yorkshire squares’ to create a full, rounded flavour and after-taste.
Best served at about 51°F (11°C).

Poured dark caramel color, little to no head, rich caramely smell, true of caramel with bitter aftertaste.

550ml bottle at home. Slight malt. Mildly hoppy, mildly bittersweet. Light body. Smooth finish. Enjoyable enough.

A beer wearing a beautiful dark copper skin. Thin white head that doesn’t last long but does leave decent lacing behind. Light but steady carbonation bubbles rise. Aromas are on the light side. There is a bit of nuttiness, maybe some ripe red fruits, and a hint of malts. The tastes start off a bit weak and mainly bready, but finish very strong, with red berries dancing in the throat on the swallow. Really nice finish on this beer. I’d have to admit, I’d buy more of this one.

355ml bottle at Alfies, Princes Building, Hong Kong on 20/04/15. Lovely reddish copper colour with a thin white head. Fruity aroma with a little malt. Medium carbonation. Flavours of apple, melon, a little caramel - sweet and light bodied. Drinkable, but a little too fruity for my palate.

DIBBLE (72) - Worthing, West Sussex, ENGLAND - APR 23, 2015
Bottle from Pallant of Arundel, West Sussex. Bought today April 23rd 2015. Got home and noticed BBE on neck says MAR15. Hmph! Malty, reminiscent of malt vinegar aroma. Tan head dissipated swiftly to none. Clear deep copper coloured beer. Thick full slightly oily mouthfeel. Low carb fizz on tongue with a slightly acidic bite. Hops are difficult to pick out. Dry finish. Not bad but I don?t think I?m getting this beer at it?s best. As a wise friend once said "Every days a school day".

Bottle from supermarket. Pours a clear copper colour with slightly off-white dense head. Smell is caramel malt sweetness, raisin fruitiness, and some herbal hop aroma as a secondary component. Taste is relatively sweet, with hop bitterness coming through at the end.

I like this Samuel Smith Pale Ale of organic nature portion – it looks good, smells good, tastes good and has much flavor and vigor for pale ale variety of beverage. What I like most is that it is smooth and has a beauty color. It makes me remember my dear friend Giovanna who had similar color to her skin as Samuel Smith beverage and at same time had beauty hair that is color of head from ale. Giovanna was very special in that she had this mix of hair and skin in all natural with no help from bottle. I think the sayings is the carpet match color with table cloths! This make me think of special times when we dance and she move her glorious butt-cheeks to the smooth voice of Louis Prima as we drink much and laugh with youth and desire for one of each other. While Giovanna was beauty all over, she has special round buttocks that make tear come to eye it is of such beauty like art or food. I drink this fine ale and think of Giovanna’s glorious butt-cheeks and smile.

ClubGonzo (4522) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 31, 2015
Bottle from Utobeer, London. Pours a crystal clear light copper-hued body with a medium creamy white head. Nose is red berries, nuts, muscovado sugars, caramel and hints of wet grass and herbs. Taste is caramel, burnt sugar, wet grass and hints of grains, straw and nuts. Light to medium body, medium carbonation. A pretty straightforward, yet pleasant classic ESB from the oh-so-classic Samuel Smith brewery. Quite nice, yet rather predictable of course.

Bottle to shaker glass. Pours clear copper, two finger quick light beige head, no lacing but good retention. Aroma of caramel. Taste is rather sweet, only just a tad of bitterness. Light bodied, moderate carbonation. chalky mouth feel. Finishes sweet with a touch of earthy bitterness. Tasting notes of toffee, hazelnut, melon, herbs and bread. Good example of the style.
