Captures the soul of beer. It has a maltiness that reminds you that beer is a product of the soil. Balance of malt and hops.

Malty, hoppy aroma, copper colour, a huge toffee head. Malty, nutty flavour, good hop aftertaste. Smooth, balanced, as always well crafted.

Chestnut with dissapearing head. Lots of malt and fruit in the nose. Flavour has a big burst of caramel sweetness, then some hops and lots of woody bitterness in the finish. Very good indeed.

A fine English pale - well balanced, nice medium thick body. Some bready malts and nice light bitterness.

Nice russet colour. Starts with a biscuit malty taste that continues into a long malts/hops finish.

Another great brew from Samuel Smith’s. Color is great with a small lasting head. This is what beer should taste like; perfect balance.

Very different from American Pale Ales, which is I think as it should be. The taste is a bit maltier and less hoppy at the end, which makes it very drinkable. My biggest complaint was the complete lack of a hop smell, I just couldn’t notice any. (Maybe it was that i was drinking it on a beautiful spring day and it was tought to compete) There was pretty much no head, but that’s ok, it didn’t taste flat.

Crystal clear amber color with a big thick head. Retention is insane, with a half-inch cap lasting the duration. Leaves lots of sticky lacing. Aroma is a bit typical, with sweet maltiness and mild fruitiness. Flavor is mostly toffee and caramel, maybe some diacetyl. Hops are all but undetectable. A little tannic bitterness comes out in the finish. Dry, and smooth with a medium-light body. Really easy to drink, but not really as robust as I like my pales.

Bottle. Poured a clear amber into a pint glass. Two finger tan head. Aroma of malt and sugar. Flavor was of caramel malt and a slight hop note. Medium body with good carbonation.
