2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Light amber, small to average and fully diminishing head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel - toffee, some floral fruitiness and light notes of wood. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, some caramel - toffee and some floral fruitiness and light notes of wood. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish, light caramel with some floral fruitiness, faint hoppyness. Sweetish bitter with caramel. Floral fruitiness with caramel just do not work for me. Could use more bitterness.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is a sweet maltiness. Some nice notes deriving from the famous ground water. Some light caramel notes. Taste is a rich maltiness with a nice mouth feel again from the great water source. Bitterness creeps up and finishes smooth. Body is a clear amber with a thin lace head that retains well.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle. Golden with two finger head. Very light malt body with mild english hops. Certainly a bit reserved compared to American PAs, but this is pleasant and goes down easy.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nose is very malty, slight biscuit and toffee note. Taste is malt, biscuit, topee, a little red berry, with a nice slight bitter tacky finish. Mouthfeel is fine. A nice bitter masquerading as a pale ale.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The head and lacing are very pronounced. Dark copper colour. Very malty with some sweetness. Bready. Nice bitterness. More ESB than expected. If you want to know what diacetyl tastes like, this is the place.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours clear amber, white head. Nose of hay, biscuit, berry, metallic hops. Flavour is same, light palate, very refreshing, but the metallic hops are too strong for me in the finish to really be any sort of classic.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
550ml Victorian bottle, pours dark golden brown with a small foamy white head. Rich caramel & toffee malt backbone, biscuit and hints of berries and plums. Full bodied with a balanced light bitter finish. Carbonation low to average. An old recipe, but still a good one!
