COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered
Name changed from Old Brewery Pale Ale to Organic Pale Ale in 2011.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, yeast, hops.
Brewed with well water (the original well at the Old Brewery, sunk in 1758, is still in use, with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground); best barley malt, yeast and aromatic hops; fermented in ‘stone Yorkshire squares’ to create a full, rounded flavour and after-taste.
Best served at about 51°F (11°C).

Bottle 550ml @ My parents
Pours clear deep golden/copper with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel and grass. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with a grassy finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle, Hendersons, Edinburgh City. Pours red with a perfect head, subsiding at an average pace. Smell is distinct and peppery, fantastic. Taste is sweet and malty, finishing mostly simple. Great.

500ml bottle at home. Light chestnut gold with white head. Malty yeasty notes with an old slipper thrown in. Didn’t enjoy this.

Pijalne angielskie lekkie jasne piwo o karmelowo-ziołowym profilu...

Not a bad beer. Good example of an Extra Special Bitter. This beer is still marketed as the Old Brewery Pale Ale and they also market the organic....ah ratebeer. Anyway, pours a deep copper color with a one finger khaki colored head. Aroma is sweet, fruity and caramel. Taste is more of the same. Some earthy herbal type hop presence floating around, but the malt dominates. Sweet caramel, burnt sugar notes. Slight chalkyness to the beer from the water in the well. Crisp and clean. Solid.

I did not enjoy this as much as other Samuel Smith offerings. It tasted a little off. Maybe I just don't like organic.

It pours a hazy orange/brown with a white frothy head and had hints of bread malts, herbal hops and a big note of caramel. This is a bold malty brew with a pronounced caramel sweetness and a mild hop backbone. A tasty easy to drink brew with a low ABV, which allows for the consumption of multiple beers... www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews

Clear, copper colour, white head. Toffee, strawberry. Creamy mouthfeel, moderate bitterness, average carbonation. But with all these sweet aromas and smoothness there’s no sweetness, it’s rather refreshing.

Clean bright copper pour, fluffy tan head. Nose is Sam Smith yeast and mild hops. Bitter. Middle is soft malt accentuated by the Yorkshire squares and light wood. Finish is restrained but lasting bitterness.

In the glass it has a copper color with a nice head. Aroma has malts up front with some nuts and fruits. Taste has some tropical fruits like mangos and apricots. There is also a nuttiness to it. Good finish.
