COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Handcrafted at Melbourn Bros’ tiny brewery set in a time warp in Stamford using the old manually operated brewing equipment. finest organically grown barley and wheat are used to create a complex ale which having undergone primary and secondary fermentation with different yeasts and extended maturation, is taken to Samuel Smith’s small, independent British brewery at Tadcaster. There it is blended with pure organic apricot fruit juice and a previously cellared organic brew - creating an unparalleled fruit ale. The smooth distinctive character of the matured ale serves as the perfect counterpoint to the pure organic fruit juice.

550 ml bottle. Pours a clear gold with moderate head that settles quickly. Aromas of fresh apricots and a bit of fuzzy peach. Flavors of fresh nectarine with only a note of the beer from the body and a bit of toasted malts. Well carbonated. An extremely good alcoholic fruit drink. Beer? I don’t know ,but well done.

Bottle pours a somewhat cloudy orange with a foamy orange head. Taste is spritzy citrus and apricots. Mouthfeel is somewhat dry and mildy tart.

550 ml bottle. Mostly clear yellow orange, smaller foamy white fading head. Tantalizing apricot aroma. Sweet apricot juice taste and not much else. Softer than average carbonation, lighter bodied, no discernible malt or hop presence. Tart finish. Good for what it is. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)

Pours an orange colour with little head. Sweet smell of apricots. Tastes sweetish, apricots but never too mellow or overdone...all in all very balanced as a dessert beer.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2014 Nice orangish color. Some head. Odd smell of barley, rice, wheat, fruits and funk. Taste is a mind blow. How do they put all that fresh apricot taste in that little bottle?? Delicious

550ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden yolk color with a one inch white head that lasts. Taste is of apricots, grass, citrus, wood and some nice sweetness. Nice apricot and wood aroma. Both the aroma and taste come across as tart tart. Has a nice full body that slightly coats the mouth. The finish is a bit tart, sour, bitter and dry.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Supermarket Liquor Fort Collins and shared with LeninCat. Pours a bit hazy yellow appearance with a white head. Kind of soapy/floral, peach/apricot, apple aroma with maybe a faint hint of diacetyl. Tangy apricot/apple fruity, vanilla, a bit acidic, a bit buttery flavor. Fair amount of sweet, sour, and candy notes. I’m not digging it.

Clear golden color with a medium thin white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Apricots and malt in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of sweet apricots, toasted malt and a touch of grass. The finish is sweet with a pure apricot aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle. A- Apricots, wheat. A- Peach color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Apricots, subtle spices, slightly sweet, slightly tart. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, fruity finish. O- If you don’t like fruit beer you haven’t had Samuel Smith’s offerings. The apricot tones here are done so well it’s almost unbelievable.

A pleasant surprise. Aroma is freshly cut apricots with just a hint of lemon. Pours hazy yellow with a big frothy head. Taste is fresh apricot, some noticeable stale bread finish. Great fresh fruit mouthfeel. Was very happy with the showcase of the fruit. I will be looking for this again.
