Normally I do not buy anything labeled “organic” because the whole “organic “ food movement is way overhyped and is quite frankly somewhat of a scam. However, because it is Samuel Smith’s I gave it a try. I was pleased at how smooth and balanced this beer is. Not too hoppy. Perfect for those who don’t want their ale to taste like Pine-Sol.

Pours nearly clear amber-gold with a tall, frothy, white head. Sweet, floral nose....fruit and honey. Taste is sweet, malty, citrus...slightly bready. Minimal, but smotth bittering. Nice.

Pours a rich copper color with good clarity and a three finger eggshell foam. On the nose it has nice round toasted maltiness with touches of citrus and honey. The palate is smooth and well balanced with a honeyed sweetness playing well off the roasted toasted malts, citrus hints and trace bitterness that draws out the finish.

Pours hazy, golden-yellow with nice dense head. Aroma is earthy with banana and bready malts. Taste is balanced with a medium body, a bit flat, not much carbonation. Bitter almost slinky, flat aftertaste. Pretty easy to drink but not much flavor.

3x355 ml bottles, Bierpost.de - Pours relatively foamless and yet fizzy, somewhat underwhelming body. Earthy, indeed "organic" aromas of autumn fruits, medium body, musty spicy-floral hops and a lot of vivid "culture" going on here (BB was 31.08.2012) - would almost be tempted to call this a pale ale/British saison mix - like all quality brews, takes a while to educate the taste buds, but well worth it!

Bottled. Poured clear, brighter golden with a short, well-retained off-white head. The aroma picked up semi-sweet honey and toasted grains with lemon zest and grassy accents.. not bad. The flavor found similar grains and some bready notes at the core, with tart lemon zest and fruity notes around.. finished with prickly carbonation and tart fruit skins. Lighter-bodied and a tad sharp at times on the palate.. OK overall, but far from exciting.

This golden ale has a biscuity malt aroma and taste with delicate orangey fruity notes. Eminently drinkable with a light-medium body and decent hop bitterness. No complaints here. Sampled from a 500ml brown bottle.

Smells like pale malt and moderate fruity esters. Tastes similar to nose with a bit of tartness and lingering bitter finish. Golden or summer bitter.
