Bottle: Filtered
Ingredients: Water; Organic malted barley; Organic cane sugar; Yeast; Organic hops; Organic cocoa extract; Carbon dioxide
Brewed with well water (the original well, sunk in 1758, is still in use with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground), the gently roasted organic cocoa extract impart a delicious, smooth and creamy character, with inviting deep flavours and a delightful finish - this is a marriage of satisfying stout and luxurious chocolate.

It is a perfect stout. This is probably better than Youngs double chocolate. It has no faults that I can see. The price on it is incredible too. I think it deserves a perfect score.

Bottle @ home. Pours with a very dark brown colour, small short lasting frothy brown head. Aroma has very rich notes of chocolate, cocoa and vanilla; additional notes of licorice. Taste is heavy sweet, slightly sour; I like it a lot, even though somebody could find it too sweet. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation.

Cracking the bottle on this one allows the aroma to break free and it infiltrates the air above my glass immediately and with a vengeance. The dark brown liquid is, indeed, very dark and the head extremely aggressive. Whatever you do, don’t pour hard with this one! The aroma is chocolate, chocolate, Kahlua and cream, but the first few swallows help me revisit a childhood addiction to Tootsie rolls. Definitely Kahlua-ish in the flavor as well; roasted chocolate imparting a mildly sweet enhancement to the medium-bodied brew. The lightly creamy texture is only lightly carbonated and I must say that I would probably appreciate just a tad more of it. The finish is nice; long and consistent. I never have liked cloyingly sweet and this is a nicely balanced flavor and taste. Am glad to send this review to a friend who suggested it to me. Thank you and nicely done!

550ml bottle. Pours a very deep brown, almost black colour with a ruby tinge when held up to the light. Dark tan head but left absolutely no lacing. Powerfully enticing aroma of milk chocolate, mocha and vanilla. Smells great. Deliciously sweet, chocolatey taste with only a hint of bitterness. Full body, creamy texture, low carbonation, long finish. A chocolate stout that provides a massive chocolate hit. Bottled chocolate. WOW!!!

How can you not enjoy a beer that tastes like a dessert! Best of both worlds! The subtle chocolate flavor is not overpowering, nor is the alcohol content. Perfect beer for either an early evening toast or a late evening sharing with your significant other! Perfect during the cold winter months with a nice spicy pizza.

A sweet sweet chocolately choc choc. Even from a few inches away the big chocolate notes pervade your nose. Massive aroma here which is backed up by a smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Dessert in a glass - this would be a perfect accompaniment to a chocolate mousse.

Aroma is chocolate, mocha, light caramel and vanilla beans. Taste is very sweet and rich malts with obvious chocolate and syrup like body. Light licorice and very light base hops here.like their itber beers, the ground water is fantastic. Appearance is black with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well

The favorite chocolate stout in our house. I've got some on my shelf waiting for my next bottle to fill a tall and frosty glass. :-) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Beautiful black with deep ruby undertones when held to the light. A thin tan stout head dissipates quickly and leaves little lacing. Nose is chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. In the mouth, there’s vanilla bean and brown sugar as well. Combined with creamy body, this is almost a chocolate milk shake, with just a faint hint of bitter cocoa. The finish is not unreservedly sweet, but avoids the harshness of some brews in this category. All in all, a great success for lovers of milk chocolate yet respectable for those who prefer dark.
