Brewed with well water (the original well, sunk in 1758, is still in use with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground), the gently roasted organic cocoa extract impart a delicious, smooth and creamy character, with inviting deep flavours and a delightful finish - this is a marriage of satisfying stout and luxurious chocolate.

Poured deep, dark reddish brown with a frothy beige head. Aroma of cocoa, toasted malt, candy sweetness. Medium body, flavour much as the aroma, quite sweet, light dark chocolate bitterness underlying.

W aromacie czekolada mleczna, wanilia, lekko palone, chmielowe i lekkie estry (jabłka). Warka do 07.2015.

Chocolate for sure. Cola colored with thin whitish head and for sure a strong chocolate liqueur taste that at first seems nice but later leaves you wanting for just a good porter minus the artificial type chocolate taste. Nice to try and maybe good as the Black in a Black and Tan.

Single brown bottle from the LCBO. The colour looks like cola, dark brown, with a nice frothy beige head that lasts long and gives out thick foamy lacing. Big candy nose with a mix of sugar and vanilla. Underneath are the chocolate notes. Wooo ! Way too sweet !! Body is not too heavy, but again, the candy over the cocoa. So sweet, it is hard to finish just one. Would cut down on the cane sugar and add more cocoa extract. Or maybe not the extract, but the powder.

Butelka. Barwa czarna z rubinowymi refleksami. Piana obfita, beżowa, średnio pęcherzykowa. Zapach kiepskiej bombonierki, sztucznej czekolady, czy polewy do lodów. W tle nieco owoców. Smak: owoce (głównie wiśnia), sztuczna czekolada (zdecydowanie aromat, a nie ziarno kakaowca), nieco wanilii (krem jak w kiepskich markizach), biały cukier wnoszący nieprzyjemną słodycz. Ciemne słody. goryczka niska.

550ml bottle. Pours a thin looking dark brown with a medium sized tan head. Aromas of dry cocoa powder, some milkshake. Taste is sweet and lightly bitter. Flavors of chocolate milkshake, Hershey’s syrup, light roast. Sweet, but very nicely done in a way that it’s never cloying. Fuck it, I like it. Also, I’m drunk and high and waiting for hamburgers to be delivered to my house.

Bottle at the Princess Louise, Holborn. Lively and black. Big creamy beige/tan head. Lots of carbonation. There isn’t much chocolate in the aroma. More liquorice, a bit of coffee and alcoholic astringency. The taste is pretty good: bitterness and chocolatey sweetness giving way to a gentle bitterness in the finish. Fairly poor mouthfeel, weaker than I’d like. An odd and unwelcome metallic aftertaste. Firmly in the ’ok but not great’ category. And certainly not cheap.

Pours a deep dark brown. Almost black. It has a thick brown foamy head. Aroma of cocoa. Taste like Yoohoo. Very chocolatey with a hint of roast. An interesting Stout.
