Ingredients: Water; Organic malted barley; Organic cane sugar; Yeast; Organic hops; Organic cocoa extract; Carbon dioxide
Brewed with well water (the original well, sunk in 1758, is still in use with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground), the gently roasted organic cocoa extract impart a delicious, smooth and creamy character, with inviting deep flavours and a delightful finish - this is a marriage of satisfying stout and luxurious chocolate.

12oz bottle from Barrel and Bottle in North Market, Columbus. Brown-black pour with thin tan head. Aroma is milk and cocoa. Tastes are cocoa, roasted malt, chocolate, tootsie role vibe. Thin palate. Little too sweet for me, but well built.

550 mL bottle. Delicious chocolatey aroma. It is not overpowering, but it is pleasantly sweet. Nothing but chocolate in the flavour, and it matches the aroma exactly. Not a bad thing, in this case. The body is medium but creamy, and this suits the flavour quite well.

Radiant with excellent clarity, it produces up a deepest ruby with a well developed and lasting plume of frothy wash atop. Strong note of fresh shaved, roasted carob, Dutch cocoa, nutmeg and Horlicks™ on the nose. A supple sweetness ensues some rusty notes and hints of dark stone fruit in amongst the ever dominant carob notes. Lightly astringent, lightly clappy swallow with a lasting, artificial sweetness. Body is medium but it does cloy once warmed. A lick of vanillin and roasted nuts a saving grace but otherwise this is not a very pleasurable ale to drink. Struggled with the full pint. Bottle. Pours with large light brown head. Black in color. Nose full of sugar and chocolate, like light cocoa powder. First sip is very sweet, luscious, and decadent in chocolate. No hop bitterness, slight dark chocolate bitterness. Finishes smooth and creamy but not cloying. This is like a liquid candy bar.

Aroma - chocolate. Just chocolate but it's great Appearance - black pour. Finger sized head Mouthfeel - creamy. Low carb. Smooth start. Minimal carb bite like a nitro. Taste - malts with chocolate. Lighter than you would expect from a stout with the perfect chocolate finish. Not fake tasting. Smooth start. Overall - great if you like sweeter beers. Not over powering which is why it's so good.

550ml bottle from LCBO. pours a very dark/black caramel with a few large bubbles for a head. Looks like a cask beer.Aroma is a big, sweet milk chocolate with a touch of roasted malts.Taste is on the sweeter side with notes of chocolate and a slight cangy sugar finish. Low-medium body with a low carbonation. Syrupy in the mouth with nearly no carbonation. Overall interesting. Sweeter than other chocolate stouts. Tasty but I think too sweet for me. The look and texture really reminds me of a cask beer. Very soft carbonation. Might try again.

Been forever since I had one of these. Dark brown body, tan lace swirls up top. Rich, unmistakeable milk chocolate aroma has depth to spare.

First reaction on my palate is that this is a bit fizzy. Lactose isn’t subtle, and the chocolate is here but not as intense as the aroma would have you expect. Pretty sweet, nearly too sweet for my tastes (and certainly so for many drinkers).

Quite nice overall; not sure why I don’t drink this more often.

Semi-strong and simple chocolate aroma. Dark brown color with light brown, semi-thick head. A bit artificial milk chocolate is very dominant on the taste and masks the beer flavors too much. Flavors of malts and toffee. Medium taste spectrum. Quite long aftertaste with a flavor of...chocolate. Palate is just too light for this stuff. Medium carbonation. Overall, here are all the good basics for the proper chocolate stout. Just a bit more beer and it would be a fine product.

550 mL bottle from LCBO served cool in a tulip glass. Deep brown-black with a decent tan head. Lots of chocolate, mainly milk chocolate, a little butterscotch, toffee notes, a little fruity, pretty straight forward. Medium body, full, round effervescence. Tons of slightly artificial chocolate, sweet, toffee notes, too simple; sweet, almost cloying with not quite enough bitterness to balance and a kinda bay, sweet, artificial chocolate finish. No thanks.
