Ingredients: Water; Organic malted barley; Organic cane sugar; Yeast; Organic hops; Organic cocoa extract; Carbon dioxide
Brewed with well water (the original well, sunk in 1758, is still in use with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground), the gently roasted organic cocoa extract impart a delicious, smooth and creamy character, with inviting deep flavours and a delightful finish - this is a marriage of satisfying stout and luxurious chocolate.

Shared a cool-looking tall brown bottle into sampler glasses. It poured a near opaque mahogany colour with thin tan but persistent foam and some lace. Overall impression here is chocolate, as in real cocoa, not just chocolate malt. Maybe too much so to be considered balanced. Underneath is a somewhat watery but tasty stout: bready, toasty, smooth and well-rounded, with that subtle Samuel Smith’s cidery tartness that I enjoy. Medium body, low carbonation, lasting chocolately aftertaste. Tasty but not as awesome and harmonious as some of their other classic English ales.

Bottle. Dark brown with a small tan head. Strong aroma of chocolate and roasted malts. Medium body with malt sweetness upfront and an almost overwhelming chocolate presence. Too much chocolate for my tastes.

Tastes like an Irish Car Bomb (Irish Cream, Irish Whiskey, and Stout). Could be stronger.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a somewhat cloudy, dark, brown with a tan, tall, frothy, head that dissipates very slowly. Aroma is sweet with heavy scents of chocolate and vanilla. Tastes just like it smells ... sweet, with strong chocolate flavor and hints of vanilla. The body is full, the texture is creamy, and the finish is long. What’s not to like about this? Definitely, a dee-lish beer!!

Nice coco aroma. Delicious chocolatey taste. Not much of an alcohol content, .05%, but still very tasty Revere Stryker dog!

Wow. A very delicious and aromatic beer. I typically don’t care for organic beers, but the Sam Smith line have all been excellent. Aroma was perfect. Big sweet milk chocolate is very big and thick. Smells like a milkshake. Pour was a deep dark brown with a one finger tan head. Taste was sweet and delicious. Lots of flavor for a 5% beer. Strong sweet milk chocolate with a milky finish. Not much more going on and nothing else is needed. Delicious solid beer.

I had this and Young’s double chocolate in the same day. I figured they would be similar. How wrong I was. This stuff is twice as sweet. Chocolate pudding , malt and yet more chocolate. Lovely stuff but I couldn’t drink more than one of these. Great after dinner or indeed as a final beer when you are sick of drinking the same stuff all night.

(550 ml bottle from Kervans) Pours black with two finger tan head. Good retention and lace. Aroma is a slightly perfumy chocolate. Oily texture, soft carbonation, medium body with a sweet finish. Flavour follows the nose and is predominantly sweet. A bit too perfumy for my taste. Girlfriend says: "It’s okay but the bottle is a bit too big."
