COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered
Ingredients: Water; Organic malted barley; Organic cane sugar; Yeast; Organic hops; Organic cocoa extract; Carbon dioxide
Brewed with well water (the original well, sunk in 1758, is still in use with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground), the gently roasted organic cocoa extract impart a delicious, smooth and creamy character, with inviting deep flavours and a delightful finish - this is a marriage of satisfying stout and luxurious chocolate.

Initial taste is like hot chocolate mixed with root beer. You can really taste the organic chocolate and there is no taste of artificial flavors (since there isn't). Light bitterness, medium carbonation, short finish. This beer is a desert. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Pours a clear dark brown with a nice brown head. The head is a nice color but goes down quickly. Smells of rich dark chocolate, molasses and currents. Aroma is very sweet. Lots of chocolate flavor, but also very sweet - especially for my taste. If you are looking for a great dessert beer this could be it, but it is a bit much as a general drinking stout in my opinion. This beer does have a lot of chocolate to offer, so if that is what you are looking for give it a try.

Smells like chocolate and a little vanilla. A thin tan head settles quickly presenting a dark red brown beer beneath. Carbonation is good, not too much, not too thin. There’s definitely chocolate on the palate with a sweet creamy finish. All in all one of the nicer chocolate style beers I’ve had, If I could put it on toast I’d be pretty happy at breakfast!

Everything a chocolate beer should be or needs to be. Sweet, rich, full body and mouth feel, this is amazing.

How did I miss this? From a bottle smells like what else but chocolate. Nice big dark pour without much head. Yes, has good co2 and is surprizingly more palatable than most domestic choco beers. I bet those american guys could learn something from this brew. Glad to have tastedthis. A many of the attributes of dark chocolate, with just a tad of alky in there. You know, I’ve had a few different sammy smiths styles and all of them behaved like a gentleman, just like this one.

Very rich and flavorful. Tastes like a great dark chocolate bar. Pours a dark brown with a medium light brown head.

Great stuff. Milk chocolate in the aroma and taste, a bit of caramel and smoked plums in chocolate. Big brownish head with dark brown body. Smooth, medium feel on the palate.

500ml bottle of Samuel Smith’s Organic Chocolate Stout in a nonic. Pours with a weak head over a very dark brown body. The aroma of chocolate clomes out loud and clear. Rather like hot chocolate without the extra dairy, and some chocolate nibs. Flavor: sweet, perhaps just a touch above optimum. Some dark roast in the aftertaste but largely masked by the chocolate before then. Feel: Medium body and near medium carbonation; Creamy smooth yet with an undesired sharpness.

Flaska från SB. Mörkt brun och högt ljusbeige skum. Stor söt lite kvalmig men ganska trevlig kakaodoft. I a f fall än Störtbeckers variant.

500ml bottle? All to myself, bought at World Market or Trader Joes (I don’t remember offhand). Poured a creamy dark brown color with a large brown head. Aroma was pretty much all chocolate upfront, with some roasted and toasty malt notes. Probably a bit like a lightly malted chocolate milkshake if you had to pinpoint anything in particular. Flavor was milk chocolate candy, some roasted malt. Creamy, easy to drink. Not quite as good as I remember Youngs to be, but pretty close.
