COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered
Ingredients: Water; Organic malted barley; Organic cane sugar; Yeast; Organic hops; Organic cocoa extract; Carbon dioxide
Brewed with well water (the original well, sunk in 1758, is still in use with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground), the gently roasted organic cocoa extract impart a delicious, smooth and creamy character, with inviting deep flavours and a delightful finish - this is a marriage of satisfying stout and luxurious chocolate.

Pours an opaque dark brown/garnet with a nice light tan head. Aroma is chocolate candy bars. Taste is sweet dark roasted malt, those cold milk, chocolate and coffee drinks, a bit of burnt caramel and some very mild hoppiness. Very good and refreshing, but not sure it’s my drink - - wait, maybe with a little vodka!

ENG: 550ml bottle from Liquor Mart in Winnipeg. Very dark brown, almost black with some red highlights and medium, dark-beige head. Heavy chocolate and cocoa aromas with hints of caramel. Very strong sweet chocolate taste (reminds me of hot chocolate beverages), milk, mixed with lots of caramel and malts. There might be some coffee too and a bit of bitter. Low carbonation, medium to full bodied, oily and creamy. Overall typical english style beer - no hops, just caramel - a bit too sweet for me :)

PL: Butelka 550ml kupiona w Liquor Mart w Winnipeg. Gdzieś w tle też kawa i drobna gorzka goryczka. Niskie nasycenie, średnie do wysokiego ciało, oleiste i kremowe. Podsumowując typowe angielskie piwo - brak chmieli, za to dużo karmelu - jak dla mnie za słodko :)

This beer smells fantastic! I just wish I could say the same about the taste. It is too sweet for me, i needed more stout and less chocolate. That being said I think the beer was well made and had it been less sweet I would have enjoyed more

(Samuel Smiths Organic Chocolate Stout) Bottle 550 ml at home, served into a snifter, ABV 5% Very dark brown colour on the body, almost black. Head is a bit taller than one finger, thick and creamy, tan coloured, with good retention, leaving medium lacing on the glass. Aroma has plenty of chocolate, cocoa, chocolate milk. Sweet taste, again lots of chocolate, cocoa, chocolate cake, light perfume, chocolate milk, light vanilla. Medium body, carbonation on the low side but fits it well. Great, tasty beer, a real dessert in a glass.

Bottle. Jet black in colour with moderate carbonation. Aromas are of chocolate milk and a bit of vanilla pod. Loads of sweet milk chocolate in the mouth along with pale malt and mild orchard fruit. Slick bodied with a long finish. A bit of a one-note beer, but it does that one note pretty well. Too sweet to drink more than half a pint of, but would be good in lieu of dessert.

Dark ale with thin tan head. Sweet chocolate aroma much like the flavour which also has roast malt quality and chocolate sauce over vanilla ice cream after taste.

Prachtig uiterlijk, donkere kleur en mooi schuim. Erg zoetig van geur. Smaak is overdadig zoet met ook wat koffie. Een snoepwinkel in je mond.

I found it a little too chocolaty. I would’ve preferred a more subtle chocolate flavor and more of a good roasty stout profile. It was good if your looking for a dessert beer. It’s not a beer you’ll want to have more than one at a sitting.

550 mL bottle. Black on black with a thick, relentless head of beige. Nose is rich, creamy chocolate, a touch of roasted malt, mild grainy sweetness and a hint of dark fruit. Sweet and chocolate dominated but somehow still tastes like a beer. Creamy thick on the palate with moderate carbonation. Finish is clean. Not entirely sure why I like this (flavored beers give me the willies), but I do.

UPDATED: FEB 8, 2015 Pours a jet black with a khaki head. Aromas of chocolate and lactose and chocolate and malt sweetness and chocolate. Taste of chocolate and sweetness and chocolate. Very nice lacing in the glass. Thin mouth feely but overall very nice beer.
