Brewed with well water (the original well, sunk in 1758, is still in use with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground), the gently roasted organic cocoa extract impart a delicious, smooth and creamy character, with inviting deep flavours and a delightful finish - this is a marriage of satisfying stout and luxurious chocolate.

550 ml bottle from the lcbo. Pours deep brown with a tan head. Nice chocolate nose. Flavour is simple and chocolately. Brash and bitter on the finish. I’d take a youngs double chocolate stout over this ever time.

Rigtig meget chokolade, marcipan. Mums, men måske lidt overvældende... Lidt i overkanten hvis man er nødt til at drikke det hele selv...

Dark brown pour with a nice frothy tan head. Aroma is chocolate and rich malt. Almost no carbonation, tastes more like a chocolate malt than a beer. This one is just too sweet and chocolatey for me, it doesn’t taste enough like beer. I think I just don’t really care for this style. I got it for my sister who normally doesn’t like beer but she wouldn’t even drink it because it’s too sweet.

Bottle from the LCBO. Deep ruby-black body with a creamy mocha head. Aroma of rich dark chocolate milk with a toasted hazelnut backnote. Creamy body. Flavour of dark chocolate, cream, vanilla, hazelnut. Light nutty bitterness to finish. Beautiful stuff, perfect for after dinner or as a nightcap.

2013/12/11 - Pours a dark brown cola colour with a frothy, khaki head that reduces to a lingering surface film. Aroma is rich milk chocolate and dark fruit (cherries?). Taste is rich milk chocolate and vanilla up front with a dark fruit aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium, with a creamy texture, soft carbonation and a mildly bitter finish. A very chocolate centric stout that makes a great dessert beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample at a Systembolaget tasting. Lots of chocolate on the nose, mild chocolate primarily. Fairly sweet smell. The taste is also dominated by chocolate. A real chocolate bomb, almost like drinking a glass of coco with carbonation and alcohol in it.

Aroma is exactly what you would expect, a nice chocolaty sweetness. Taste is just slightly bitter in the chocolate. Let it warm up for best taste.

Shared bottle poured to pint glass. Malty, bitter chocolate aroma. Smooth, creamy chocolate palate. Chocolate finish. Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate! I am not a fan of chocolate in beer, but I have to admit that I liked this. Probably the most chocolate that could be in a beer, yet it still is not too much for my taste.

Pours dark brown with creamy tan head. Smells of delicious bitter sweet chocolate, vanilla, plum, and sweetness. Tastes of bitter sweet chocolate, roasted malts, and vanilla. Has a creamy mouth feel with light carbonation. Best chocolate stout I have had. Smells and tastes delicious.

Aroma: Really smells just like fudgy brownies fresh from the oven; not complex at all but very pleasing. Appearance: Not quite pitch black, but nearly so with a foamy mocha head that settles into a thin, bubbly coating on the glass. Flavor: Fudgy up front, but lingers with dark fruits on the tongue; there’s even a very slight bitterness toward the finish. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, slightly bitter finish. Overall: Delightful stuff; a very high quality stout that is off the chart drinkable, yet offers some complexities for the connoisseur.
