Chocolate overload. While I donít necessarily have a problem with beers who add chocolate directly to the brew, I have less respect for them than those who achieve it through their roasted malts. Pours nearly black with excellent dark tan head. Scent is pungent and overpowering aroma of chocolate. Flavor is sweet with the bite of bakerís chocolate. A touch thin for style. Good beer. My mom would love it. Not my style. Bottle - Ale Yeah! - Decatur, GA

Chocolate stout sounds promising, and the look and smell is good, but the taste was just terrible. I felt I wasnít drinking a stout but very bad chocolate milk with too much vanilla. Iím surprised itís rated this highly.

8/31/13 $3.99 bottle from RW.
Black with a dirty white head. Aroma smells exactly like the powder you add to milk for choc milk. Flavor is just as sweet too much for my liking.

Near black pour with a noticeable red tinge and a tan head. Aroma is milky, sweet chocolate with roasted malts. Flavour is the same. Really smooth with the bitterness coming in on the finish to balance the sweetness. Quite tasty.

550ml bottle: BBD Nov 2013. Poured on 26 Aug 2013 at home into an Abbot Ale glass tankard.
Lovely dark brew: on top a huge tanned crown of foam.
Chocolatey and stouty! Really nice, I like chocolate and I like stouts.
Rich, at times creamy, wholesome and sweet: a very, very good beer. Havenít checked my scores, but this is the best beer Iíve had from Sam Smithís so far.

Chocolate, chocolate, more chocolate. Sweet like hot cocoa, not bitter/roasty. Very dark brown, light tan head. Has a little creaminess to it, but body is pretty thin.
