Bottle: Filtered
Ingredients: Water; Organic malted barley; Organic cane sugar; Yeast; Organic hops; Organic cocoa extract; Carbon dioxide
Brewed with well water (the original well, sunk in 1758, is still in use with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground), the gently roasted organic cocoa extract impart a delicious, smooth and creamy character, with inviting deep flavours and a delightful finish - this is a marriage of satisfying stout and luxurious chocolate.

Dec 2012 - bottle. Big beige foamy head, almost spongey. Taste is primarily sweet chocolate syrup with a bit of watery stout. Very sweet in comparison to most stouts you’ll get. There is quite a lot of chocolate flavour, but it is quite artificial tasting.

From bottle, black pour with tan head small bubbles. Aroma of milk chocolate and light roast malts. Strong aroma and very inviting. Taste very milk chocolate with small bubble carbonation. Hints of coffee and roasted grains but mainly milk chocolate, maybe a bit of bitter chocolate. Good mouth feel, easy to drink, very enjoyable beer.

Black pour with a frothy tan head. Big delicious sweet milk chocolate aroma along with raisinettes candy, touches of vanilla and Herseys syrup. Flavor is sweet chocolate chip cookies with the bread dryness, light roast and coffee. Light bubbly bodied with a dry end. Pretty damn tasty.

This pours a very dark brown color with a foamy, light brown head. The aroma is sweet with chocolate and malt. The taste is robust and fairly light from lots of carbonation. It finishes very sweet leaving a lingering chocolate taste. This certainly leaves a different taste than beers brewed with cocoa. Overall, this was a pretty good desert style stout.

550ml bottle. Pours black with large tan head that settles slowly. Aromas of dark chocolate milk. Flavors of rich dark chocolate with more of an underlying full stout feel and taste. Very smooth and slick. It really is a chocolate drink with alcohol. Really liked this.

550ml bottle, pours very dark. Big chocolate malt nose. Huge rich chocolate and coconut flavors. Very sweet but, lacks some hop balance that I would prefer. Almost overwhelming. Soft and smooth.

500 ml bottle from Country Club Liquors. Nose is a heavy dose of sweet chocolate with marshmallow creme and a hint of vanilla, almost like a chocolate ice cream covered with marshmallow cream, not the normal chocolate notes I usually find in stouts. Clear very dark brown with a medium tan head. Flavor is sweet and marshmallowy with a tiny background hint of roast/smoke. Very enjoyable for a light sweet stout.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2014 Bottle->pokal. Deep brown with frothy tan head. Aroma is pure chocolate syrup. Taste is more subdued, but still loads of chocolate with cocoa and malt. Great dessert beer.

Very dark brown black beer with thick head. Strong choc aroma. Choc and liquorice in mouth. Some plum fruit. Interesting. Dark plum fruit. Yes rich dark plum and choc beer. Tasty.

Big thanks, Harold, for bringing this mug. Aroma is huge chocolate and hot cocoa mix. This is the most chocolate I’ve smelled in any beer and in many hot cocoas. Insane chocolate and sweetness on the nose. Taste is similar. Just straight up chocolate goodness with a touch of roasted malt in the after taste. Damn good.
