Ingredients: Water; Organic malted barley; Organic cane sugar; Yeast; Organic hops; Organic cocoa extract; Carbon dioxide
Brewed with well water (the original well, sunk in 1758, is still in use with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground), the gently roasted organic cocoa extract impart a delicious, smooth and creamy character, with inviting deep flavours and a delightful finish - this is a marriage of satisfying stout and luxurious chocolate.

A true delight. Strong aroma and taste of.... wait for it.... you guessed right. Nice and smooth chocolate flavour that is harmonious with the palate. Slightly thin body, but what can you expect given it’s 5% abv? Well done, Samuel Smith.

Bottle. Poured a deep dark brown with a fine off-white head. Aromas of chocolate overpower some coffee and fruit. Touch of booze too. Smooth as a baby’s bottom, but perhaps lacked a bit of oomph in the body. Sweet. Tasty as all get out though, and a nice treat at the end of the day.

Aroma and taste of chocolate, chocolate milkshake and Baileys (?). This is not what I would call a chocolate stout. For me this taste more like chocolate milkshake with some beer in. This was a big dissappointing, its just dont taste anything but chocolate!!!

550ml bottle. Pours an unclear, dark brown with a medium, long lasting beige head that laces. Sweet aroma dominated by chocolate with vanilla, roasted malt and a hint of coffee. Sweet flavour of chocolate, roasted malt and vanilla with a dry, mildly bitter coffee finish. Light to medium body with a creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Very tasty.

This is an overly sweet, slightly tangy beer that I find difficult to classify as a stout. The chocolate stout label is misleading for those more accustomed to strong US stouts with chocolate tones. I can't recommend it as a true beer drinker's stout.

Pours black. White creamy white head, good lacing. Aroma is sweet chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor is much the same. Dry, becoming sweet and warming. Chocolate milk flavor, developing over the course of tasting. Creamy mouthfeel is perhaps the best part. Highly quaffable at 5%. Excellent chocolate stout.

Eye: Pours a clear but dark brown almost black color with a thick rather quickly dissipating beige to brown head and no visible carbonation. Nose: really smells like milk or even more like dark chocolate malts and sweet milk coffee, yeast appears after a while. Mouth: sweet chocolate again. thick and chewy. Black tea with milk and sugar. Palate: roasted nuts, nutmeg, tea or chai latte. bitterness at the end. Overall: a real chocolate sensation. few carbonation. sweet at first in the mouth, bitterness and sweetness combined in the aftertaste which lasts quite a few seconds. strong on the malty side, yeasty in the nose and hops on the palate at the very end. Great beer!
