Ingredients: Water; Organic malted barley; Organic cane sugar; Yeast; Organic hops; Organic cocoa extract; Carbon dioxide
Brewed with well water (the original well, sunk in 1758, is still in use with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground), the gently roasted organic cocoa extract impart a delicious, smooth and creamy character, with inviting deep flavours and a delightful finish - this is a marriage of satisfying stout and luxurious chocolate.

500ml bottle at the Swan and Three Cygnets, Durham. Dark red with a fine off-white head. Curious synthetic aroma of strawberry mixed in with sweet caramel (I liked this, but I suspect this will be a point of contention). Flavours of cinder toffee, sweet caramel, and slightly burnt coffee vie for dominance, with an overall sticky mouthfeel of sweetness.

It pours a deep black colour with a frothy creamy beige head. The aroma is sweet chocolate (cocoa powder) and a hint of vanilla. A smooth sweet chocolate flavour, slightly creamy and a very mild sweet bitter finish. This is a bit too reliant on sugar and cocoa powder.

I poured it from the bottle into a glass. It pours dark brown to black with a nice tan head and some lacing. The aroma is cocoa and some dark fruit. The taste is cocoa and hints of fruit. I liked this. There was something about the taste that seemed off though. I wanted to like this more.

Tasted from a 550mL bottle. It poured a deep, clear, reddish-brown with a thick frothy beige head and streaky lacing. Sweet chocolate and roasted malt aroma with a matching flavor profile. Smooth and creamy. This would be one excellent dessert stout.

Pours black with a thin tan head that recedes quickly. Aroma is very sweet - a strong smell of chocolate. Taste is sweet with a hint of cocoa and a medium lightly bitter-sweet finish. Soft body, light carbonation.

12oz bottle shared by John. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is cocoa powder! Reminds me of making hot cocoa as a kid. With marshmallows too. Flavor is about the same, nice chocolate that’s not too sweet, not too bitter. Good mouthfeel too.

Ruikt ook naar toffee. Wel mooi! Grappig, weer best fris voor een stout. Lekker eigenlijk!

Black pour with a brown head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, chocolate. Not too roasted. Lots of chocolate in the flavor. Pretty nice.
