Ingredients: Water; Organic malted barley; Organic cane sugar; Yeast; Organic hops; Organic cocoa extract; Carbon dioxide
Brewed with well water (the original well, sunk in 1758, is still in use with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground), the gently roasted organic cocoa extract impart a delicious, smooth and creamy character, with inviting deep flavours and a delightful finish - this is a marriage of satisfying stout and luxurious chocolate.

550ml bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a very dark ruby color that isnít perfectly opaque. The head forms about a three finger (via aggressive pour) mocha shade. Itís creamy texture and strong retention are fairly impressive. The center of the head seems to collapse faster than the edges of the glass. S: Big dark chocolate notes abound. Touches of hard water also about, but this one is all about the chocolate, for better or worse. Make that better - I really like a good chocolate stout when itís done right. T: The chocolate character takes on two different qualities: a dark chocolate note and a lesser cocoa powder undercurrent. Touches of roasted barley, minerals, and even a bit of hops help balance out all that chocolate on the finish. A ridiculously sweet brew, but I donít mind given how great the chocolate character is. M: Itís a bit drier than youíd expect from a dessert-forward beer - luckily it simply causes it not to cloy (so) badly after consumption. Still, it *is* sweet as fuck, so bring your sweet tooth. O: This is what Youngís Double Chocolate Stout should have been: a dessert beer with lots of chocolate yet just enough depth to keep it interesting. Did I say dessert beer? Yeah, because thatís exactly what is - luckily itís so good I donít mind drinking this one before dinner.

Shared bottle @ home from Ninaís Minimarket, Edinburgh. Body is clear nearly black, head is very small brownish mostly diminishing good lacing. Nose is sweet chocolate, aroma is milky chocolate, molasses. Heavy sweet. Long sweet chocolate finish. Full body, creamy and sticky texture, average carbonation. Not too easy dessert beer, way too sweet for me.

bultelka (pocieszna objetosc - 550ml), warka do Mar 16.

Bottle. Nose is dairy milk, vanilla, slight malt. Taste is milk chocolate, leading to milk, vanilla, some plum and a slight malt note, moutfeel is fine. It suffers the same fate as a lot of British chocolate beers, of replicating Cadbury?s milk chocolate flavours which is too simplistic a taste to be interesting . Sam Smith?s is a faded beauty. Edit. At the half way point it was drain pour. The sweetness and cheap chocolate taste was overpowering. Disgusting.

From a three bottle gift pack from LCBO Hawkesbury (Ontario). Black, big head. Sweet chocolate aroma, light coffee notes. Light bitter chocolate taste, some fruity notes, semi sweet finish. For chocolate lovers!

Bottle 55cl traded with Ollie many thanks. A dark beer with medium copper head. Nose is exceptional on chocolate and dark chocolate notes. Aroma is on the sweet caramel, chocolate, dark chocolate, medium creamy, medium bitterness, good complexity. Finish is on licorice and bitter chocolate, very pleasant, full bodied for 5į, excellent beer.

Itís not fancy - the aroma is chocolate, but more milk chocolate not dark. Itís a touch sweet, but still this is a nice smooth drinking beer.

From a 550ml bottle on 19/2/2015. Pours the darkest brown with a big head. Has a strong aroma with lots of chocolate, chocolate syrup, cocoa and vanilla. Itís super sweet in the mouth - again loads of milk chocolate, cocoa and vanilla, with a hint of dark fruit in the background. A very gentle, barely perceptible bitterness presents at the end. Has a creamy palate and average carbonation. This is one of the sweetest beers Iíve ever encountered - a true dessert experience. I tend to like sweet, and quite enjoyed this, but it does taste a little unnatural and could be a bit better balanced. Still, quite a singular experience.
