Brewed with well water (the original well, sunk in 1758, is still in use with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground), the gently roasted organic cocoa extract impart a delicious, smooth and creamy character, with inviting deep flavours and a delightful finish - this is a marriage of satisfying stout and luxurious chocolate.

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is cocoa, dark chocolate and vanilla. Taste follows aroma. A little too sweet.

550 ml bottle poured into chalice. Aroma of rich malty chocolate. Pours a deep dark brown with a rapidly dissipating tan head. Very lightly carbonated with a slight creaminess to it. The malts and chocolate are greatly roasted and very noticeable. Overall was a solid beer, especially at the price point.

Bottle from chico. Fat chocolate aroma matched by big cocoa flavor. Itís a sweet stout, but drinkable for a special occasion. An odd beer done right.

[6537-20140718] Bottle. Super chocolate mocha cocoa bean aroma with a hint of fresh leafy fruitiness. Black body with a huge long-lasting foamy off-white head. Chocolate continues in the flavour, intensely and swooningly, with a touch of anise seed. Full body. Delicious. (8/4/8/4/16) 4.0

Almost black colour with quite stable, tan head. Lacing isnít impressive but itís ok. Strong aroma of cocoa, chocolate, vanilla & subtle note of coffee. Taste reminds me a bit of alcoholic chocolates. Itís well balanced. Light and creamy texture. Damn good beer, Iíd definitely buy it again.

500ml served in a snifter glass. A: Pours a dark brown color forming s big and aired beige head. Medium retention and lots of lingering lacings formed and left in the glass. S: A chocolate bomb, really. Iíve never drank a beer with such a strong smelk of chocolate. Also sweet malts, roasted malts and vanilla. Notes of chesnuts as well. T: Pretty much like the nose. Sweet upfront. Notes of chocolate, chocolate malts, roasted malts. A bit milky and lactic. M: Medium and creamy body. Medium to low carbonation. Lactic aftertaste. O: Great ale. Excelent example of Milk Stout and chocolate based Stout. [ BA Review @ 4/29/2013 ]

It is a perfect stout. This is probably better than Youngs double chocolate. It has no faults that I can see. The price on it is incredible too. I think it deserves a perfect score.

Bottle @ home. Pours with a very dark brown colour, small short lasting frothy brown head. Aroma has very rich notes of chocolate, cocoa and vanilla; additional notes of licorice. Taste is heavy sweet, slightly sour; I like it a lot, even though somebody could find it too sweet. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation.

Cracking the bottle on this one allows the aroma to break free and it infiltrates the air above my glass immediately and with a vengeance. The dark brown liquid is, indeed, very dark and the head extremely aggressive. Whatever you do, donít pour hard with this one! The aroma is chocolate, chocolate, Kahlua and cream, but the first few swallows help me revisit a childhood addiction to Tootsie rolls. Definitely Kahlua-ish in the flavor as well; roasted chocolate imparting a mildly sweet enhancement to the medium-bodied brew. The lightly creamy texture is only lightly carbonated and I must say that I would probably appreciate just a tad more of it. The finish is nice; long and consistent. I never have liked cloyingly sweet and this is a nicely balanced flavor and taste. Am glad to send this review to a friend who suggested it to me. Thank you and nicely done!

550ml bottle. Pours a very deep brown, almost black colour with a ruby tinge when held up to the light. Dark tan head but left absolutely no lacing. Powerfully enticing aroma of milk chocolate, mocha and vanilla. Smells great. Deliciously sweet, chocolatey taste with only a hint of bitterness. Full body, creamy texture, low carbonation, long finish. A chocolate stout that provides a massive chocolate hit. Bottled chocolate. WOW!!!
