COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered
Ingredients: Water; Organic malted barley; Organic cane sugar; Yeast; Organic hops; Organic cocoa extract; Carbon dioxide
Brewed with well water (the original well, sunk in 1758, is still in use with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground), the gently roasted organic cocoa extract impart a delicious, smooth and creamy character, with inviting deep flavours and a delightful finish - this is a marriage of satisfying stout and luxurious chocolate.

I enjoyed this stout on Xmas,,,,after all the kids opened the presents. After all that hi pitched manic panic, the tout provided a nice aromatic smooth taste. I had the Bison chocolate stout last week and I like the San Smith better. I’d drink it again next season.

APPEARANCE - appears dark, held up to the light it has a deep dark brown color. NOSE - chocolatey deliciousness. FLAVOR - chocolate front to back. Light (perhaps oatmeal) stout flavor, but it’s background to the chocolate.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer and Beyond, Tel Aviv. Deep brownish-red with medium stable frothy brownish head. Nice aroma of praline with liqueur, cocoa powder, vanilla and bourbon. Flavor of sweet chocolate, praline with liqueur, moderate bitterness, some herbs and roasted malt. Moderate carbonation, full-bodied. Very nice.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer & Beyond shop. Brown-black with a beige head. Smell of milk chocolate and cocoa. Taste of chocolate, licorace, cocoa, vanilla and caramel. Medium-bodied, smooth and creamy. Too much cocoa extract but still nice as a desert brew.

Pours clear deep brown with a fat finger of beige head diminishing gradually to a thin cap, spotty lacing. (4/5) Nose is sweet milky chocolate, strawberry, mildly nutty. (7/10) Taste is moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (7/10) Medium body, low carbonation, creamy and bitter. (3/5) Fairly intensely chocolate, but without being excessively sweet. Though it is sweet. And there’s a berry note - kinda strawberry - that comes across as a bit artificial. (14/20)

550 ml bottle. BB June/16. (Alko) Tampere, Finland.
Dark reddish brown colour. Chocolate, strawberry chocolate and sweetness in the aroma. You can smell chocolate from miles away. Dark malt, mild bitterness, dryness and dark chocolate in the flavour. Thin. Higher ABV could give this some body.

Black body, brown head. Aroma has chocolate, something that reminds me of sweet liquor, berries, milk chocolate after first zip. flavour is much darker. chocolate cake and coffee. But fizzy and watery at the same time. Too sweet for me.

Even though I typically prefer a Belgian white over dark beers, this one is surprisingly smooth going down. Flavor was very well rounded.

Chocolate aftertaste makes this an excellent after dinner drink. Dark and bitter but smooth, too.

Bottle from Breeze Thru. Very dark brown pour. Little head. Nose is all cocoa nibs, with cocoa nibs back. The taste leads with cocoa, but caramel kicks in, and it actually drifts into fruity. Not super sweet; super cocoa-y with that bit of bitterness. 14.1
