Brewed with well water (the original well, sunk in 1758, is still in use with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground), the gently roasted organic cocoa extract impart a delicious, smooth and creamy character, with inviting deep flavours and a delightful finish - this is a marriage of satisfying stout and luxurious chocolate.

Aroma - chocolate. Just chocolate but it's great Appearance - black pour. Finger sized head Mouthfeel - creamy. Low carb. Smooth start. Minimal carb bite like a nitro. Taste - malts with chocolate. Lighter than you would expect from a stout with the perfect chocolate finish. Not fake tasting. Smooth start. Overall - great if you like sweeter beers. Not over powering which is why it's so good.

Finale dooooolce.

550ml bottle pour, thick cream head, decent lacing. Aroma is chocolate syrup which covers everything else. Taste is chocolate first, last, and in between. Does have some malty complexity, but is secondary to chocolate additives. Fantastic smooth mouthfeel and nicely balanced body. An enjoyable sweet stout, best shared. ---Rated whilst imbibing

Art & Antiques in Shiner, TX. Bottle poured into pint glass. Pours caramel black with a thin khaki head that lingers. Aroma is all rich, milky chocolate. Unbelievably so. Flavor is the same. Smooth milk chocolate dominates the simple palate. The beer is thin for a stout, not bitter or roasty like other varieties. Great unique beer, as long as you know what you're getting. Like a dessert.

Hot chocolate on the nose from a dark pour with light toffee head that lingers nicely. Too much chocolate sweetness is good in small sips by the fire but a bit hard to take in a stout. I could have used some more bitterness or bite, but this was pleasant enough. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

550 ml bottle poured into chalice. Aroma of rich malty chocolate. Pours a deep dark brown with a rapidly dissipating tan head. Very lightly carbonated with a slight creaminess to it. The malts and chocolate are greatly roasted and very noticeable. Overall was a solid beer, especially at the price point.

Bottle from chico. Fat chocolate aroma matched by big cocoa flavor. Itís a sweet stout, but drinkable for a special occasion. An odd beer done right.

[6537-20140718] Bottle. Super chocolate mocha cocoa bean aroma with a hint of fresh leafy fruitiness. Black body with a huge long-lasting foamy off-white head. Chocolate continues in the flavour, intensely and swooningly, with a touch of anise seed. Full body. Delicious. (8/4/8/4/16) 4.0

Almost black colour with quite stable, tan head. Lacing isnít impressive but itís ok. Strong aroma of cocoa, chocolate, vanilla & subtle note of coffee. Taste reminds me a bit of alcoholic chocolates. Itís well balanced. Light and creamy texture. Damn good beer, Iíd definitely buy it again.

500ml served in a snifter glass. A: Pours a dark brown color forming s big and aired beige head. Medium retention and lots of lingering lacings formed and left in the glass. S: A chocolate bomb, really. Iíve never drank a beer with such a strong smelk of chocolate. Also sweet malts, roasted malts and vanilla. Notes of chesnuts as well. T: Pretty much like the nose. Sweet upfront. Notes of chocolate, chocolate malts, roasted malts. A bit milky and lactic. M: Medium and creamy body. Medium to low carbonation. Lactic aftertaste. O: Great ale. Excelent example of Milk Stout and chocolate based Stout. [ BA Review @ 4/29/2013 ]
