3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Benjii (2328) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 21, 2012
On cask at The Kings Arms. Pours a light golden colour with a fair white head that dies away early. Aroma of bready yeast, grassy hops and caramel. Similar flavours with lingering bready yeast again. Mild carbonation and bitterness.

500ml bottle. A very clear beer with a golden amber colour and a deep full head of pristine white foam. In the glass this beer looks very thin. Grassy notes with some malt and barley coming into the mix also. Thin and light in the mouth with some dryness left on the palate.

Kinda dreary. Looks like piss. Is this as good as a pale lager can get? In which case there’s no need to bother until Mikkeller do one.
1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 mkgrenwel (454) - Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA - APR 13, 2012
Clear yellow pour, a touch orange. Basically no head. Aroma is pretty skunky and doughy. Flavor is crisp and pretty clean. I just never like this malt flavor in such light beers. Whether there’s corn in there or not, that’s all I taste. Other than the skunk, which I can’t really blame the brewer for in this case, there’s no real off flavors. I guess this is about as cleanly as you can pull the style off. Even so, maybe it could offer something more than this. Just a slight wash of hops in the back for balance, just enough to clean the malt off the tongue in the finish, but not enough to really enjoy. I don’t care for the style, but I think it can still be done better than this.

Bomber pours a lively light gold with a full head. Aromas of straw some light grass a bit of light bread and some carmel malt. Flavor is lightly sweet with almost some sour at the end. Body is medium and finish is lightly sour but abrupt and clean.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clar gold with a beautiful frothy white head that is lasting quite nicely. Nose holds nice touches of lemon zest, orange, grass, a touch of wheaty grain. Clean, refreshing flavor with much of the same hop character and light caramel malt balance. Refreshing, definitely one of the best pale lagers out there.

bottle pours light gold, medium fluffy white head. Aroma is big grass and cracker grains. Flavor is pretty straight forward. Grass, hay, crackers, thin floral hops in the finish. Pretty easygoing stuff.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 BlackIPA (324) - Rochester, New York, USA - APR 6, 2012
Bottle from Billicus! Thanks bro! Pours a clear straw color with a huge frothy head that fades into a ring quite quickly. Smells of noble type hops, with some straw and fruit character. Taste is actually quite good... almost makes me want to reconsider the pale lager style... well at least the good ones. Would buy again if it were available around my parts, but sadly I haven’t seen it. Solid beer.
