2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
04-Dec-07 (550-ml bottle: Purchased 20-Nov-07 for $3.49 at BevMo in La Jolla, CA) Dusty hop aroma with elements of butter, orange fruit and honeyed biscuits. Sweet, bready, yeasty attack with obvious notes of diacetyl, but finishing with a hint of banana in the flavor as well. Nevertheless, the overwhelming flavor is buttered biscuits, especially after the fragile hop character fades off the palate in the finish. On the palate, the beer presents a light-medium body, gentle carbonation and a soft mouthfeel, but the buttery finish negatively affects the crisp drinkability I hope for from a pale-colored lager. Medium-yellow body has perfect clarity. Half an inch of off-white head settles to a thin ring and sugar sprinkles. Better than most in this style, but I still was hoping for better.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Gold color. Weak head. Little aroma except for slight skunk. There is nothing exiting or special about this. Very little flavor. No aftertaste. Pretty dismal offering.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Gold Color, Medium Head, Spotty Lacing. Grainy Straw Aroma. Sweet, Grain, Light Floral Hop Bitter Finish. Organic or Not, this style is just not exiting. Might Be OK for What it Is, But I’d Say Pass It...

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Thin lager, light brown coloring, not dense. Decent beer that doesn't overwhelm in taste and texture.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Pour is a hazy yellow, pretty sweet malts and weak hops. I prefer non-organic things, fwiw. Drank enough to know I will never buy this again, thanks RBSH.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Mild aroma with bread and grassy hops. Flavor is mild, smooth, and a little sweet, with some fruity hops in the finish. Pleasant enough, but overpriced for a slightly-above-average beer.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Pours a hazy golden color, pretty cloudy for a lager. Not a lot going on in the aroma in this one, slight notes of corn. Same with the flavor on this with a little sweetness.. Also, a little bite to it. Overall, not that great for a top 50 pale lager...I’d stick with the cheap stuff for this taste.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle into snifter. 1/2 inch white head. Nose and taste is very sweet. Like honey. Hazy yellow. On the full and sweet side for my taste. Difficult to drink too much. At least its not overly carbonated like most others

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Completely clear light-amber with a small white head. Aroma is grain, light citrus, pretty typical pale lager aroma but not quite as bad. Taste is super malty, taste nothing but barley and a little honey, no hop presence at all. Finish is lightly sweet. Light-medium body, well carbonated. Not terrible.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours luminescent gold with two-finger white head in my Brooklyn tulip. It’s clear as can be in there. Bubbles are steadily rising to the top revealing some good nucleation on the bottom of my glass. At first, I get whiffs of corn on the nose. A closer inspection also reveals some faint hop character. There’s some mustiness coming to the fore now as well. As if there couldn’t be any more players in this mix, there’s a light lemony note coming out as well. A true cacophony of aromatics.
Upon sampling the beer, I’m first greeted by some light hay and corn flavors. The carbonation is certainly evident on the tongue here, giving credence to the bubbly activity in the glass. The delicate flavors at the fore yield to more general sweetness in the mid-palate. If I slosh the beer around on my tongue, I get that lemony flavor to come out. A truly unique experience for this style, I must say. The mouthfeel here is surprisingly full and perhaps creamy even. The hops come into play most in the finish, which melds together with the light hay and corn qualities from the start of my taste; truly a full-circle experience.
I guess I can see why this beer is ranked so highly for the style. My experiences with BMC had led me not to believe in the possibility of something like this existing. Easy drinking and refreshing. I can’t say I’m totally enamored with the flavors here, but it is intriguing enough to keep sipping.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma is fairly typical wet bread, slight apple peel, and champagne. Pours light amber with great carbonation and a medium head. Goes down easy with sweet biscuit notes with sour champagne pils notes. Easy chuggin stuff.
