Clear yellow pour, a touch orange. Basically no head. Aroma is pretty skunky and doughy. Flavor is crisp and pretty clean. I just never like this malt flavor in such light beers. Whether thereís corn in there or not, thatís all I taste. Other than the skunk, which I canít really blame the brewer for in this case, thereís no real off flavors. I guess this is about as cleanly as you can pull the style off. Even so, maybe it could offer something more than this. Just a slight wash of hops in the back for balance, just enough to clean the malt off the tongue in the finish, but not enough to really enjoy. I donít care for the style, but I think it can still be done better than this.

It is alright. Nice beery aroma and a descent taste. Left a bit of a funky taste though.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ home. Pours with a pale gold clear colour, small frothy white head. Aroma is mdium malty, with notes of bread, and slightly hoppy, with some notes of hay; not very intense. Taste is slightly sweet, slightly bitter. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. An ok lager, but nothing really special.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Reminds me of a nice German helles lager, very much cereal grains, but full of flavor. Tends to the sweet side, with a bit of bitter dryness at the end. The way lagers should be done.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Good beer. More of a honeyish malt flavor than most lagers. The hops taste different too, more like the hops used in ales.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a golden color with a fair head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of malt, caramel with grain and bit of fruit. Taste of malt sweetness, caramel and grain. Mild bitterness and a fairly dry finish. Fairly light body, quite smooth with a bit of a malty feel. Bit above the typical lager.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma: English hops meet the nose first; lemony and slightly floral. For me, the malts set this apart; it has that slightly honeyed quality that reminds me of Czech malts. Appearance: Slightly tinted, mostly still gold pour with a foamy white head that settles into a healthy skin. Flavor: Honey cereal with touches of lemon, especially toward the finish, which is lightly bitter/semi dry. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, lightly bitter finish. Overall: Englandís answer to Pilsner Urquell? Maybe I go too far, but I thought this was very nice. Would be a regular customer if this came in competitively priced six packs (or, heaven forbid, cans).

"good organic beer...consistently good, a feat in itself. i like the organic ale just a touch better, but they are both quite enjoyable. this one is just a touch more bitter and lighter in color."
