rmalloy (177), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA Jul 14, 2007 This is a good beer. It’s a shame that a beer in the 99th percentile for its class is in the 43rd precentile overall. Lagers are worthwhile, and this beer is an exemplary lager. Grassy nose with just a hint of citrus. Tastes of straw, light banana, lemon and then a complex, palate refreshing hop portfolio. Beautiful in the glass until the head dissipates.
DrDavid (332), Johnson, Vermont, USA Oct 4, 2008 (Bottle). Malty aroma, and some fruit. Pale golden, small white head. Mild malt flavor, with some bread. Dry finish. Well balanced, though not overly impressive. blipp (809), Grand Island, New York, USA Sep 30, 2008 Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Grainy malt aroma with just a touch of hops. The flavor is lightly sweet with clean, grainy malt. Not bad. pittnerie (2), Erie, Pennsylvania, USA does not count Sep 29, 2008 Yellowish in color with head decent head on it, malty taste which is smith’s trademark ewestern (110), Ohio, USA Sep 29, 2008 Golden pour with a very thin white head. Citrus malty aroma, pretty subtle on the malts. Carbonated look and feel to it. Bland malt flavor that with some bitterness. Crisp citrus finish. jujubeast6000 (502), Houston, Texas, USA Sep 26, 2008 (bottle): Pours a very clear honey-yellow body. Average white head, but diminishing. Some maltiness, spice. Fresh like hay or grass. Not much aroma. Laggerish taste, that same fresh plant smell. Clean aftertaste. Amost watery.
