COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered
Name changed from Old Brewery Pale Ale to Organic Pale Ale in 2011.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, yeast, hops.
Brewed with well water (the original well at the Old Brewery, sunk in 1758, is still in use, with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground); best barley malt, yeast and aromatic hops; fermented in ‘stone Yorkshire squares’ to create a full, rounded flavour and after-taste.
Best served at about 51°F (11°C).

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 11/13/2013. Light gusher upon opening. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a small amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, pear, apple, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of bready malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, pear, apple, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, pear, apple, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice robustness and balance of bready malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast ester flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is a damn nice English pale ale! All around great balance and robustness of bready malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Appearance: clear reddish/pinkish brown, creamy light tan head. Aroma: fruity and malty, with notes of cherry, marmalade, caramel, raisin, and light vanilla. Taste: as the aroma indicated, with the addition of a few earthy, mellow hop notes. Finish: smooth, with lingering light fruity and malty sweetness; palate is full and creamy. Notes: Tastes like a Bass Ale, but only much, much better.

Bottle; pours amber with a tan head; aroma is sweet malt, caramel, and a hint of hops; taste is sweet with malt and caramel, then becomes a little bitter before a semi-dry finish. I do admit that I was expecting more a pale ale from reading the label but this definitely more of an ESB and a decent one at that.

I don’t know, seemed like a pretty regular pale ale. I didn’t taste any outstanding distinctions that I could contribute to the organicness or the brewing process.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Murky amber, white film. Ripe fruit and cooked pear and plum and then some spices in the nose, oxidized taste - fruity and old and sweet. Medium-bodied, long fruity finish and carbonated.

At a tasting, thanks kerenmk, small stable bubbly head, hazy deepish orange colour, aroam of wood, caramel and toffee with hints of fruit, flavour of bread, caramel toffee and some fruit and butter in the back. Quite drinkable but a bit bland.

Bottle 0.5 l. Clear amber liquid with big foam. Medium body and carbonation. Medium to heavy sweetness, a bit too sweet. Not bad.

Hazy golden/amber color, small off-white head. Slightly hoppy and bitter. Taste is mild, fruity and caramel. Watery, thin body, average carbonation. OK, I guess, but expected more.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks kerenmk. Hazy deep golden-copper. Stale aroma of cardboard with malt and a bit of honey. Sweetish flavor with cardboard, malt, a bit of fruitiness and a bitterish finish. Medium-bodied. Seems old.
