Also known as Organic Raspberry Handcrafted Fruit Ale
A product of England this is an ale brewed with raspberry juice and natural flavours added. Brewed at All Saints in Stamford Lincolnshire and blended and bottled at Samuel Smith’s Brewery. The finest organically grown barley and wheat are used to create a complex ale which having undergone primary and secondary fermentation with different yeasts and extended maturation. This beer is blended with pure organic raspberry fruit juice and a previously cellared brew creating an unparalleled fruit ale. The smooth distinctive character of the matured ale serves as the perfect counterpoint to the pure organic fruit juice.

Raspberry fruit beer… and when if it got warm I wouldnt drink much more. In memoriam Prince. Anyway…. Bottle at All Saints Brewery, Stamford. Reddish black-pudding brown with a tidy pinkish head. Less fruit in the aroma than I’d have expected. There is however a massive biscuity malty note with berry jam at best a side order and at worst an afterthought. The taste is raspberry-licious without being overpowering. Stodgy jammie dodger aftertaste. Pretty good if somewhat inconsequential.

Clear, quite deep red body with a pink, fully lasting head that leaves lots of lacing on my glass. Strong aroma that is totally dominated by sweet, jam-like raspberries. Strong flavour of sweet, sugary raspberries and cherry pits, with caramel and citrus in the back. Moderate sweet taste with a very light acidity and some bitterness. Medium body, smooth texture and moderate carbonation. A perfect beer if you like raspberries, but don’t love sours.

Small slightly bubbly shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly artificial sweet fruity, raspberry candy, raspberry syrup, sugar, soda powder. Taste is slightly sweet sour-ish fruity, raspberry candy, soda powder, raspberry syrup, grass, minerals, weeds. Medium bitterness, slightly sour-ish and watery mouthfeel. Fair enough.

Bottle. Clear dark red color, pink head. Aroma of tart raspberry. Taste starts with sweet and syrupy berries, then light tartness at the finish. OK.

My favorite Samuel Smith fruit beer so far. Well balanced. Quite sweet with a lot of raspberry and some darker fruits. Malty, bread crust and hops for balance.

Clear raspberry colour with sweet aroma. Perfectly balanced palate, not too sweet, not too dry. Nice real fruit flavour. Very easy to drink. 5.1% Vol. Can’t really fault it. :-)
