red tinged pour with RED tinged head! - aromas of raspberry syrup - taste like carbonated melted raspberry sherbet with a little alcohol mixed in - I guess I would normally not like a raspberry ’beer’ with this much fruit but it’s not terrible

This fruit beer poured a deep red colour with a nice, frothy, pink head. Scents include raspberries, hard fruit juice, champagne, wine and industrial adhesive. First sip was very raspberry flavoured. Quite tangy on the palate. Other flavours of sweet fruit juice and old books quite prodominant. Finish is like eating a plastic chair. No idea why the percentile is so high on this mess.

Cloudy ruby red complexion with small carbonation and slight bubbly pinkish head. Raspberry, apple and cherry to the nose with notes of vanilla and cedar. flavor is sweet, tart and deliciously dry finish. mouthfeel is lightly effervescent and lively, leaving a medium lasting tart aftertaste. Delicious brew. Thank you Samuel Smith.

May 13th, 2011 - Well known for their dark beers and stouts, it’s rarer to find one of Samuel Smith’s fruit beers on the shelf. This is a somewhat sad state of affairs. Samuel Smith handles the fruit style with aplomb, demonstrating balance in skill and adaptability. The brew’s body is very dark purple and cloudy, almost magisterial, with slight hues of pink trailing from the beer and threaded throughout the foam. Fresh and flowery, the Organic Raspberries appear, though not as raspberries, but plying smells of thick strawberry jam and deep, ripe cherries. The mouthfeel is almost all carbonation and mineral water, and the fruit flavor makes me feel like I’m standing in the shallow end of the pool. This also reminds me Hansens’s soda, though not quite as unpleasant. The taste falls a little short, but after taking in the entire bottle, I think this is a satisfactory fruit beer, if a little light and ephemeral.

This is a great fruit beer. Smells superfruity, lots of thick raspberry, like a sorbert or something. Pours with good head and lacing, thick purple consistency. Palate is medium. Tastes pretty much like fermented fruit juice- very good experience.

pours murky dark purple with a very nice frothy pink head, good retention and lacing. fresh ripened raspberries, some toasted malts, some lactic notes, yeasty - light dust layers. sweet, almost cloying, light but present acidity that helps. tingling peppery finish. average carbonation, some fizz, medium body - oily - decent malted body. still, nice.
